A5 carves up northants - an old Roman road I think - up to towcester from Weedon direction
Seems to form a natural barrier between the more ridge and furrow pleasant landscape from the flatter Northampton side

My old clinic was in Weedon…
What, doctor?
If it’s the surgery - one of your co workers shoved her fingers up my arse in about 1992

Not that surgery then
Day 13
Another 7km in the bank focussing on running form. A stiff climb up the Chevin and a careful descent back down…
Do you know a runner called Matt Clarke? Former 800m runner in his youf - think he does a lot of tri now - based nr Milton Keynes
yes
Garmin says i am unproductive (there’s a surprise)…
VO2 down to 52…
You are a man of mystery @explorerJC . Your training looks pretty scaled back based on the last 13 days, but your vo2 is very impressive ![]()
it’s about all my body can manage at present…
thanks, but iirc it was lab tested at 69 when i was in my 40s…i will try and find the report…
Day 14
Wanted to ride, but busy doing training plans and end of month business stuff…
Snuck in a 5k road run up Hopping Hill and Shaw Lane to Holbrook Moor. It’s a tough climb for me at the moment but the view back is stunning…
Two weeks in…and whilst I don’t think i’ve made the most of the time, it’s a start…
Ive mostly been wearing my Inov 8 X Talon’s to help with my running form, but i reverted to the Nike Zoom Tempo for extra cushioning with back to back run days. Shoes are now on 541 km and wearing fast now…
Day 15
Just shy of 5k on the grassy hills behind the Sadd house…with 4 hill reps (up from 3 from my last time out) with Mrs eJC…
Day 16
20km of coaching cycling at Darley Moor…a fab evening to be cycling in small triangles and the best i have felt on the bike for a long while…
Day 17
An enforced rest day despite the glorious sunshine…
Had to watch Guardians of the Galaxy 3 which was not a good substitute…
Day 18
7km negative split run with Mrs eJC…not a bad effort as its 100m down on the way out and obvs 100m back up…(or 106m according to garmin)…20 mins out, 19:30 on way back
ran off some of the days stress and, for the first time in a while, I felt as though I could hold a little form…
i should amplify my original answer…
I have a race planned that I will be barely able to survive, but the real aim is to run off too many years of slovenly behaviour and place myself into some sort of condition if not for next year, then certainly the year after…
ParkRun ![]()
never be ready for that…
Day 19
First time back on the full Chevin loop in what seems an age…9km with reasonable form although my calf muscles were beginning to suffer in the final km…but it marks progress
Stood on the scales after a fat boys breccy, so not the best time. As i would expect, body mass up due to the return to training…75.4 kg - 76.5 kg. But body fat down slightly, 18.8% - 17.5%
