Yep, nice to see you getting faster throughout!
Right! NYD falls in week 1 of my half marathon training scared plan.
I will be running a 10km TT as a benchmark.
Running 10k in week 1 at the same pace you expect the half marathon to be in week 12
That’s 3:47/km

I’ll be doing an off road 10km with a big muddy climb in the middle of it on NYD (assuming that’s still allowed). There’s a distinct possibility my pace will be literally (used correctly) half that speed ![]()
I’m doing the 12 runs of Christmas, pencilled the 5k effort on NYD.
Have the Hyperion Tempos at the ready (calves won’t take a carbon plate), I’d take anything under 20 minutes.
Same forecast here. Planning to use the local parkrun course and hope there is no ice.
What about you @Poet? You started all this off didn’t you?!
I’m even a tiny bit tempted to get my lazy ass out and to give it a go. Certainly won’t be Pbing, but I’ may give it a go.
Not ran n about two weeks.
And I’ve 400km cycling in my legs
Call it a brick

Roll Call and happy birthday @leahnp
@tuckngo @FatPom @jeffb @The_Iain @PCP @APM @Mungo2 @Jgav @TriCurious
I think @wheezy @JibberJim and @Chriswim might be tempted too.
Reminder that @Poet will eat one full sized trucker cap for each PB as motivation
I’m in but it won’t be pretty. Doing about 50km on the mtb today and I just don’t have the ‘dig deep’ mindset at the moment.
I’m also struggling with a route. Close to home I either have hills or or multiple roads to cross/slow down for. There is a b road I could run along that will give me just shy of 2.5km flat but then I’ll need to do a 180deg turn and also go early for no cars (which will mean ice!)
I’m sure I’ll think of plenty more excuses during the day.
I’m absolutely light years away. Not trained in weeks properly, having physio on glute, lower back and hip (until T4 kicked in). Struggling to stand up without pain, never mind run.
Good luck to everyone. I may get a slow jog done.
Yeah, no. Not for me. Might well try and get in a benchmark for the rest of the year, but it’ll be a long way off a PB.
Might be struggling, if I’m honest. We’ve had quite a bit of snow, that’s simply turned to ice.
Instead of a 5k PB, would a gentle slog on the treadmill count?
5K of any kind counts, a PB just increases the fibre in Poet’s diet.
I am also all out of bacon; back injury is repaired but gained another 2kg, missed running for yada yada yada…and its very frosty outside this morning, everything highlighted in white and treadmill broken so I might do mine on grass and mud tomorrow.
I can’t even remember what my post operation PB is but I think it’s 20.19 but that was back in Feb 2018!
I will definitely be out for a 5k tomorrow
Got a bit of fatigue in my legs so I’m sure it won’t be pretty.
Speed also depending on number of shandies consumed tonight (should have a new box of beer arriving today!)
I’m afraid that I’m out. My foot injuries are ruling out any running at the moment.
