I thought this about my local £8 duathlon.
Nope. Turned up and there are P5 disc wheels, aero hats and the lot.
On a wet December morning
I have the local towns 10k this Sunday.
Highlights of the route include running passed the local landfill site.
Similar question, do I introduce the Brooks carbon shoes on a wet and hilly course?
Carl Shaw normally rocks up
Our club do them at the local cycle circuit and you get people on TT bikes, but tbf they are sometimes practising quick transitions etc
@APM - moving it here
No. I did when I lived in Derby, then a walk round Carsington, really cleared the head!
I hope dove Dale dash is on this year (previously cancelled for rain, rain, Covid!)
For New Year, I always want to enter the Hardmoors run over to Ravenscar/North Yorks Moors, as I grew up round there.
But doing a trail marathon on New Year’s Day is a step too far for the family
Love a Dovedale Dash - the start is always like something out of a battle scene from Braveheart with the massive crowd legging it downhill
@Doonhamer love that report. That race sounds flippin epic, and amazing! Great racing.
Wow, great write-up, quite a few little daft things but seems like you ignored them and pressed on. Going from 2c to 32c was quite a change.
Shame about the rules changing while you were away but I’m sure you’ll remember the race rather than that in a year or two.
Mate, the self-isolation is forgotten already. Only the best memories left.
Thanks.
As ever I wished I’d proof-read a bit more before posting, but it’s one of the few events I’d do again.
@APM - bank holiday Saturday, go get your Top 10
Yeah, noticed that. Seems it’s mainly on the road, with an annoying section of 0.5k on grass.
I’m doing a race a few days before, and they’ve stuck it middle of the afternoon on the Saturday - not ideal.
Fancy it?
Derwent Duathlon booked so I can test out the ASICS Metaspeeds
Yeah - I do!
Gonna have a look around and see what else I might be doing that weekend, but it looks good…
…seeing as Matlock Tri isn’t going ahead
I was tempted by that myself and it avoids swimming!
Standard or sprint?
Standard distance as prep for the British Champs in Oct. Would be good to finally catch up
Good man!
Let me know if you enter. Not sure if my calf will take 2 hilly races in 4 days, but we’ll see.
Drizzly morning for local sprint tri
With a blue carpet just like the Olympics
MTB count in transition worryingly low, a few fast looking guys in army and navy kit too.
Off in 50 mins, looks like rain may be stopping
Nice bike good luck
