86.0 o’clock this morning.

Been working from home since April 20 so not reason to wear anything apart from shorts or cargo trousers.

Tried on a pair of jeans from the wardrobe the other day, 34 waist. Oh dear, couldn’t get the button done. Ordered a pair of 36" from Next. Fcuk off, struggling with them as well.

Disgusted with myself. 4 years ago I was wearing 30/32 waist. Now everything i have has to be loose and baggy.

This is a definite wake up call.

85.5 this morning. I think the scales are broken. Normal service resumes after Xmas. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

22nd Dec: 76.7kg

I’ve had a dodgy belly today (and track session last night) therefore I suspect this is mainly driven by lower water retention/dehydration.

Haven’t weighed in ages, so jumped on this morning.

After a big drop in exercise recently I was expecting a bit of a jump up. Very surprised to see a 71.1kg!

Thats made me quite happy, although admittedly I’m only dicing with a few kgs here and there.

Hmm, this seems like a variation on the 17min ‘I haven’t trained theme’ :joy:

Ah the problem is you forgot to take those bags filled with sand onto the scales

After some advice re diet.
I’ve done dry January for years and it used to result in a decent weight loss, not only from the lack of alcohol but I think it changed my mind set to eat better as a result.
I don’t drink much these days so dry January doesn’t seem much of an event, I’ll still do it but want to combine it with something more substantial from a diet point of view.
Don’t want to go to extremes like vegan or keto etc. but thinking lean protein, lower carb avoiding simple starches etc and lots of coloured veg.
Can anyone recommend a resource or a name for something to support this or good tips as, all being well, it won’t just be a month thing but something more long term but allowing a bit more cheating as time goes on.
Cheers

Some of the Joe Wicks books are OK. He has a lot of lower carb dishes, without going keto.

He’s clearly not a chef though and some of his recipes are lacking. He never uses garlic for example. Also having them done in 10-15 minutes is bollox unless you want really runny sauces.

In the past when ive dropped weight well I’ve had a salad or soup for lunch, one of his meals in the evening. Maybe breakfast depending on how hard I was training. Would eat cards around training times. I’m going to start the same in January

Having been stuck around 100kg for the last couple of months, I’ve well and truly blown that now.
102.9kg this morning, looks like New Year starting point is going to be well north of 100.

I’m still at Mum’s. My first opportunity on my scales will be Wed morning. Dreading it!

Going for a big push in Jan. No booze, sensible eating. Gentle exercise.

A few posts up, I said I was dreading the scales tomorrow morning, so quite I’m sat here eating spicy nuts and trail mix with a zero beer, I’m not exactly sure?

I am sure it will be someone else’s fault though. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Seem to be clinging on to 74kg

69.2, so a couple of kgs put on over Christmas which is not too bad. Now the start to be back in mid 60s.

uggh, 86.7 could’ve been worse.

Ending the year at 82kg.

Looking back to this time last year in MFP, I’ve gained 0.5kg.
