Yep, sounds like you’ve got it all mapped out :ok_hand:t2:

I did a trail marathon in Cannock Chase once. I stayed at a Premier Inn by a bloody great Amazon warehouse and a MacDonalds. I think the site used to be a nuclear power station?

Hope you weren’t out after dark, you might have bumped into Stan Collymore and his mates :scream:

I know exactly where I was that night. Taking an hour to work out how to buy Maccas on the new giant touch screen.

Flicking through photos of “bike” to check out my previous positions and setup last night, when I came across an image of @mw22 and myself at Outlaw 2021…

…Mike - you coming over the border to support at this?
I think @APM is coming, I really appreciated the personalised “support” at Outlaw, could do with that again!

Really keen!

I have baby swimming at midday, but can pop down before and after.

I’ll be holding a huge festival like ‘Go Poet’ flag.

I’ll be done by midday :+1:t3:
Starts at 7am.

4:45 target time (rough, undulating bike leg, hilly run for a fat lad and I’m rustyAF!)

I couldn’t be @rsed to get down to Outlaw to support my own club last weekend - so don’t hold your breath

I could ride out to Hanbury - but I suspect looking at the start time; a man of your power will be long gone by the time I’d get there.

Fair enough!
Can’t wait for that Draycott Cliff descent

Not looking forward to the sharp left before the hill runs out though :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Wife pulled the plug on baby swimming, so will be there!

I’ve been playing around with the FulGaz platform recently and noticed they have the Staffordshire 70.3 course. No idea how accurate it is though

Wont help with practicing descents but might be useful for those who aren’t familiar with the course

Free 30 day trail with the code ‘30IRONMAN22’

Thanks for this :+1:t3::biking_man:t4:

Can you pick it up at various points?
I’ll not be doing 2:40 on the trainer in one pop, but could easily break that down to four 40min sessions :+1:t3:

Yes, you can create a ‘section’ of the course and ride it separately if you want

Sweet

I’ll be downloading that to ride for free then :clap:t3:

Saves me £14 Zwift membership, too.

NOICE :sunglasses:

ETA: I’m on course now. 91.33km and 900m elevation!!! I’d say that’s “hilly” :mountain_biking_man:t3: Some great views through Brownhills :factory::factory:

@fruit_thief - in the spirit of being positive, looks like I’m not gonna be on the TT bars for longer than 20 mins at a time :joy:
And after 20km the course is very nice

ETA - @Adam ; yeah. Erm. This is gonna be hard not to blow my wad on the bike course! Quite fun all of these rollers. Even indoors :speak_no_evil:

Did you just finish off the virtual course?

Some proper hills aren’t there!

Just remembered they’re softening you up for two trips up to the castle on the run

Still on it now. Just spinning round taking in the views.
But yeah, gonna have to set some power limits :joy::joy:

I will be along to watch and throw abuse where I can. Now live 400 yards from Chasewater.

I use the bike course on some of my training rides and is undulating, but there again im comparing it to my old haunt of the Derbyshire peak!

Just out and about at the mo and noticed that the A5 is closed 10PM to 6AM over race weekend, including the bit for Chasewater Country Park entry.
Could make things interesting, unless drop off is on the Burntwood side
