2022 IRONMAN 70.3 Staffordshire

Cheers @davem
Did you move that sweet shed you had, too???

End of reply.
New topic.

WTAF is this about???

This race does not pre-allocate BIB numbers before registration opens. BIB numbers will be allocated on a first come first serve basis during registration on-site (AWA Gold, Sliver and Tri Club Pole Position athletes will still receive a reserved, lower BIB number range).

Guess I’ll be there Friday at 9am :joy:
Work from Sainsbury’s cafe, then home at lunch to get back to work.

I guess they don’t want a lot of empty racking and they’re allowing for A LOT of no shows???

They did that numbering in Texas. Can’t remember the excuse, probably because of the previous dropout rates or risk it wouldn’t happen

Also saves money on specialist printed ones with your name on them

Jokes. For £300 I’d expect my name on my bib :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

@Poet - unfortunately it was sold as part of the divorce settlement…

for £300 for a 70.3 would also expect a butler to help in T1/T2

Bolton was £440 after fees.

I’ll not be doing a WTC event again.

So, I should be able to watch 9-11 on Sunday.

Where will you be @Poet?

Erm…aiming for conservative sub-5 with a 7am start.

35min swim + T1
2:45 bike + T2
1:40 run :sunglasses:

I’ve not ran over 14km since Outlaw
Only done about 8 hours outdoors on the TT bike.
Two lake swims this year.

So I should be starting the run at 1020 ish?

Unsure of bike course to Staffs, if you’re “doubling” up?

Yes, yes. We know Thomas. Yet you’ll still do a sub 4.30. #easy #nothingtoit #trainingisoverrated #iwillcryifitrains

Lucy Charles-Barclay only just scraped one of them when she won it!

It’s a tough course :disappointed::unamused:

And if it rains, I’m not going.
Already told my wife this fact.
0230 alarm, shovelling a bagel down my neck driving down the M6 at 3am to get piss wet through?
Nah mate, I’m alright, ta.

I will probably be on the Skoda Island near the start of the bike loop with my pom poms. If its not raining, that is.

Will try and remember to put my 2009 Tritalk Cycling top on.

One problem with point-to-point is the wind…

…we’ve got 60km of cycling into it on Sunday :sob:
That’s gonna destroy my soul :ghost:

You’ll go faster than 35 in the swim

Ha, so true, I don’t even enjoy staffs, god knows why I’m doing it. We can skip along hand in hand on the run

That’s including T1, too.
I’ve only swam twice in the lake so far this year (both times were 1:35/100m pace) third time tomorrow. Fourth time on Sunday :joy:

I really enjoyed that lake last year - expecting a nice dive off the pontoon to get you going
