I’m hoping I can sit in just behind him like on the TTT’s ![]()
Good luck @TROSaracen
Good luck! I had that down as a backup if travel plans were scuppered.
Family aren’t impressed, it was 28 in NYC on Thurs and now 7 in Boston, feels like -1 according to realfeel ™
Yeah, it’s freezing today. I’m reassessing my advice to Jeff about not wearing a baselayer!
The annoying thing about the bag drop is no chance to make a last minute assessment. The baselayers I have with me are not ones I’d want to just throw away. Think I’m still going with just the vest, but I do have some old arm warmers I’m planning to wear and chuck whenever I warm up
I’d seen your comments on Strava, hope you are feeling better in the morning. I was feeling rough all week up to the 70.3 but was fairly sure it was just my sinuses. Didn’t have the dizziness.
My hip was giving me some grief yesterday but probably from lugging the suitcase around and the long train ride. And general fatigue from all the walking, been easing down the last few days.
Like you it was more about getting here and I’m unlikely to get under 3:15 for a London GFA so don’t think I’ll be pushing myself.
Having said that I’ll probably get carried away in the first 5k that’s downhill and do sub 20 ![]()
Best of luck to all racing!
One year I did the NSW State Champs, I finished in the same position as my bib number, 636. Took me bloody ages to make sense of the results. ![]()
Along those lines…the full race time of 2 of my first 3 ever triathlons…
Was quite a good improvement, as the second event was 1500/40/10 versus my first ever tri which was 800/40/8
It’s actually snowing a bit now
I’ll probably have a coat and my joggers on ![]()
3:14:32 for me at the flat Boston, lovely day here certainly no snow. Good luck to the hilly Boston mob!
And saw the denim demon too! ![]()
Good work sir ![]()
@Tupperware nearing the finish line in 2:50.
@stenard on course for 2:59…
@jeffb yet to hit heartbreak.
Amazing job all!
Looking good for them.
Great stuff.
C’mon fellas get 'er done
Hills did me in. First one wasnt particularly nice. Second was was quite tough. Third one began to hurt. And after heartbreak, my legs no longer worked. Just couldn’t pick the pace back up again. And ended up having to walk a fair bit of the last few miles.
That’s a tough course. Crowds are immense tho. And did my best to soak it in. The finishing straight was a wall of noise from both sides.
Great times from @Tupperware and @jeffb. Shame about those 2s for you Jeff!
It was hard work in the second half wasn’t it!
My quads are in tatters so the last few miles were a bit of a death march. Having trouble with kerbs…Sam Adams is helping me with my predicament
(bar moxy).
The crowds were amazing all the way round
. Organisation didn’t seem as slick as London, but the whole coach trip thing adds some extra complexity and to be fair I didn’t have any issues.
ETA: as above, shame about the 2s Jeff, my family were cheering you just before the finish straight ![]()
Excellent racing fellas! Did you manage to catch up with each other at all?
No. Lack of a phone kinda scuppered any possibilities of that I think. Same with people here from my club.
