That’s a great first effort off cross training, without much marathon pace running
Well done!
Hmm. They’ve marketed IMNZ in December quite heavily here as being his last race so wonder if they mean his last edition for California.
Yeah, it’s been dragged out a bit by careful semantics! This is his last in California! I’m guessing a few more yet and won’t be surprised if he’s not in StG as well. Along with Paul Kay.
Congratulations @Blueandy, brilliant effort and smashed your target
Hope your DOMS isn’t too bad today.
Yeah I think NZ is his last last, being mid December (he’s said none next year onwards) , and yes assume StG in between.
Even better, this will be talked about down the tri talk ages?!
Even amungst the motley fitness mad crew that plagues this site I don’t think we will find anyone who has attempted this before?
D-O-M-S !
Yup ![]()
When you’re on a day rate, it’s a huge extra cost ![]()
I’m sure @Toyota_Crown might take offence at that
6 days is probably long enough for him to recover, restart training and re-taper.
Top bombing @Blueandy, that last turn to the uni when you go up that little drag feels like a proper hill
, love/hate that bit.
In 2020 didnt some fella called Brownlee win? an ITU WC race in Hamburg on the Saturday and then hop on a plane somehow quick enough to show us all how it is done at Helvellyn Tri on the Sunday ![]()
Indeed, one of then first proper PTO races and given him and Skipper had been the ones to organise it he wanted to turn up despite change of plans.
Beat George Goodwin in one of his breakthrough races if I remember, think it was only AliB fell run experience that changed it.
Few of us TTers there that year
just got an esnail from Outlaw.
Shame that OutlawX has moved to Sep3 - clashes with IM Wales!
Woburn & Bowood halves have gone too, but might come back…
2023 thread for this fella ![]()

apols for being a numpT ![]()
Haha, wait until I do it first! Was feeling a bit grotty yesterday
, hopefully just taperitis!
And as above, still lame compared to TC!
A friend of doka Sean Burke did a half very close to Bolton, he biked hard and ran to orders in the 70.3 it seems.
He aced Bolton, don’t think it was 6 days though!
Sure you will enjoy yourself.
Mate of mine did Lakeland 100 followed by IM Austria the weekend after
But he was a teacher on summer hols
That wouldn’t have tickled!
Best of luck tomorrow @jeffb - got you on the tracker ![]()
