Totally!
My 50km loop (still needs tweaking) takes 2hrs 10mins.
But I’m not riding Gravel weekends.
Only weekdays and maybe some evenings.

I’ve logged 36x 95km (fav cafe loop is 96k) plus rides in 2022 with one leg, sure @Poet can manage on a gravel bike
I’d agree with this. When I did the Coast to Coast in 2018 it was the first time over 112 miles for me and the previous was Norseman in 2009. C2C is 150 miles and 3700m ascent so was definitely worried.
In the end, the only distance issue was caused by me pushing too hard on the long flat/descending section on the east side of the Pennines. This led to some knee pain on the steep climbs in the NY moors and I rather hobbled over the line.
I did learn though - Raid Corsica has 2 stages over 115 miles and I handled them much better after doing the C2C a few months earlier
Surely start at Stonehenge at Sunrise
I think if you’ve got 180 in the legs; you’ll be fine going to 250. My issues werent muscle or nutrition (going slow enough you can digest anything). But comfort elsewhere…
Shoulders were absolutely wrecked and I was holding onto top of bars which I never do. The other was my feet swelling up (Was quite warm) so rode the last hour or 2 with shoes pretty much undone.
The above points are spot on.
Clip on TT bars are excellent as they give an alternative riding position.
Feet are my biggest issue, ideally have a pair of shoes that are at least a size too big and wide fitting, A stiff carbon sole may be great for racing, but for ultra distance a carbon plastic sole with a little flex is better, also a softer insole is great. Cleat position is also important, if cleats are a couple of mm off straight, on a regular ride you won’t notice, on a long ride can be hell. I also ride with saddle 5-10mm higher for long distances as it reduces knee pain.
That’s another good idea. Maybe a there and back as it’s not too far away - though we’ll miss the actual solstice, but probably not a bad thing lest we get molested by the pagans!
So, that’s pretty much exactly 300km as a there and back. That can go on the list.
Though i’ve tweaked the Greenwich version following @Adam and @JibberJim advice. Again, i’ve not looked at it in any great detail, but i’ve got it down to 308kms with only 2,190m elevation!!! And most of that is in the final 50kms. Will need to see if i can find a route that skirts the Blackdowns rather than having to go up and over.

TT meet-up? Although barely an imperial century from the Cotswolds.
Stonehenge OnB is a 164.0 km Cycling Route created by Ian B. on January 4, 2023. It has a total elevation gain of 1,608 meters. Sign up for Strava to save this route and share it with your friends.
Although there is nothing actually at Stonehenge. Would need to detour a few miles to the visitors centre to get anything to eat.

Orgies at solstice isn’t it?!
But you still have to ride 150km home after.
TT meet-up?
260km to me… thats a bit far for an out and back

We cycling down in tandem or you getting another top end van rental
Longest day riding with Poet… the irony
haha - yes fair point. Too quick to jump in there!!!
160km for me as well as I live pretty much in the same place as @buzz I did it earlier this year too.
I am not setting any goals for this year. I obviously want to progress. My running has been hampered by the relatively recent injuries but probably more so to my lack of frequency of running in particular and training in general. The main obstacle being domestic stress and the knock on from that. I won’t go into detail here but her taking HRT over the last month or so as improved things a bit.
It can be a roller-coaster, we’ve been going through it for a good 18mths. All the best.
You’d better off taking the road to Solstice Services or the pub at Durrington
This is what I miss in Aus and have been trying to look for, the chance to arrange random mini-adventures. Even just cycling Lancashire to Teesside to go visit parents.
Nice challenge from Poet - 2022 I’ve scraped in with 25x100km. Got a bit nervy adding them up with >5 being between 95-100, including one at 99.7km
