Coming over here, winning their races ![]()
I had a call from BTF next day saying can you please return the medal as there was a mistake……
Wow!
Typical, the only Scottish race track Duathlon has been announced as the same day……
My 100% failure rate in race ballots remains intact! No Celtman 2023 for me.
Got my deferral place for London through so hopefully second time lucky getting to the start line!
Before I even start thinking about this. What are the chances of actually getting an entry into it?
He’s hooked ![]()
I heard the g word… ![]()
I am hopeful that I will get a spot, but will wait and see. There are no specific entry requirements, however, the organisers want to know that people have a realistic chance of finishing, so completing Swiss Bike Adventure, as a self supported race will be in my favour, and I think my fitness levels are pretty high.
Looking at past events, many of the people seem to be pretty normal, fitter than average, but most have not tackled an event like this before
The finisher party is 15 days after the start, it would have been tough to achieve last year, with 4200km, but this year, with just 3100km, I think that 10-11 days is realistic
The FAQ seems to suggest they won’t discount people unless they are clueless. I was more wondering by how many it is usually oversubscribed by for the ballot.
did you watch the documentary?

No, I’ll give that a watch!!
This should be an early entry for ‘2024’ races’ but after agreeing to pace @Sparky at Goodwood for his Comrades entry, I was sucked into the vortex of looking at Comrades for myself.
Almost convinced myself to do it, Mrs FP is keen for me to do it (she’d rather I did that than Arc, where she is convinced I’m going to die!). Trouble is, I have too much £ invested in races next year and bailing on those will be a minimum of £600 in sunk costs, plus the cost of Comrades would be close to £3k.
So decided to carry on with next year’s plan of SDW100, RttStones and IM Wales and then look at Comrades for 2024. (which will be a ‘up run’ boo!)
Watched now and also had a look at the full route. Can’t remember how easy it is to cross the boarder from Croatia to Bosnia or how long that takes at the moment. I suspect routing over the new bridge and staying on Croatian soil might be a better/quicker option.
Might get a late entry into Goodwood - weirdly fancy that again
Do it, you can lap me again ![]()
@Adam I’ve entered IM Wales.
