Best bet might be to lobby for redefinition of the kilogram at the next Conference Generale des Poids et Mesures?

they did it in 2019 so there’s precedent

Weighed-in on Wednesday last week after getting back from holiday. Had loads of stuff to sort out so decided to write the rest of that week off and start again properly this week.
Thought a pound or two would probably drop off naturally after the week away then get back to the gym etc from Monday.
108.5kg & 32.3% - doh!

I debated the best place to post this, as the quote below is from the CICO thread.

@pacha – This made me smile, as I’ve slowly lost ‘chub’ by eating less & training more. :sunglasses:

However, I know my diet has merely gone from atrocious to less bad, rather than good.

Thankfully, this book has shown me the light and I highly recommend it.

@Poet will like that it is packed with #ScienceFacts, some of which are really eye-opening. :astonished:

My key take aways were:
That UPFs could not be considered as food, but as an “industrially produced edible substance”.
There are designed to be addictive and pass-by the way humans evolved to eat food.
Their addictive properties are all geared to driving company growth and profits.
Today’s food industry is the same as cigarette makers selling the health benefits of smoking in ‘60s.

Note – I’m sure many on here will know all this already, but it really helped me.

Previously, my bad lunch habit included crisps, which were obviously ‘junk’ food.

So, I’d replaced them with a ‘healthy’ yoghurt, which turns out to be UPF.

These days, I now make a big bowl of ‘real’ fruit salad to dip into. :sunglasses:

I’ve still got a long way to go, but understanding my addiction to crisps and chocolate does help.

Cheers, Paul.

It seems my post holiday bounce took a little longer than expected.
105.7kg & 31.0%
5 gym sessions and tried to walk a bit more too, but still not doing any proper cardio so will see how things go over next few weeks.

Had that and fruit for breakfast

The stuff you make out of a packet.
She makes it this container thingy overnight

That HAS to be healthy?

This range, which is 0% Fat 0% Sugar, so miles better than crisps  , but Gum, Sweeteners, etc.

https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/danone-light---free-blueberry-4x115g

Ingredients - Yogurt (Milk), Blueberry (6%), Starches (Potato, Tapioca), Modified Maize Starch, Acidity Regulators (Sodium Citrate, Calcium Citrate, Citric Acid), Stabilisers (Pectin, Guar Gum), Sweeteners (Acesulfame K, Sucralose), Flavourings, Vitamin D

I did try one of these, which counts as ‘real’ food.

https://www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/yeo-valley-organic-greek-style-natural-150g

Ingredients - Organic fat free Greek style natural yogurt (milk), milk protein. No added sugar. This yogurt contains only milk’s naturally occurring sugar (lactose).

But, no offense @gingerbongo I just couldn’t finish it.
(Might give in another go, another day.)

I bloody love yoghurt! :joy: I eat tonnes of the stuff. But, as ever, it’s all about balance. That one is free of nasty stabilisers and additives etc, but of course milk, as with fruit, has natural sugar content.

You should see what goes into the cheap fruited yoghurt!! :flushed:

Phew, I just eat full fat greek or plain yoghurt. Very rarely eat yoghurt with fruit and the low fat stuff is a bit grim.

I think it is fair to say this has been a bit of a rollercoaster.

Using notches on my belt as a guide, this equals 5” removed from my waist line. :astonished:

My lowest weight in at least a decade. :sunglasses:

Nice, that’s really significant weight loss. Can almost forgive you using lbs.
Did you mention some new bikes and running shoes too? :running_man:
Any goal in mind or just general health?

Just stepped on the scales at work. Been away from home for exactly 6 months and lifestyle in that time has been pretty good. 2 alcoholic drinks. Exercise every day. Home cooked food, mostly veg. Maybe a bit too much sugar, it’s in everything here.

Weight… absolutely unchanged at 68.7kg. No need to tell Zwift any porkies. Which reminds me, pork. None of that either.

I’m not trying to lose or gain weight, just am interested that it has stayed level & despite a different lifestyle.

edit: maths, it has only been 5 months
