2024/2025 weigh in thread

I’ve gone the wrong way. Back up to 74 over the past few months.

Not surprising with a bit of a training drop that’s only just starting to recover and not being quite so good on the bad snack front in particular.

Why is it when you’re told you’re overweight, have a dodgy ticker and are now T2 diabetic that you say Fcuk it.

Seriously, I need to sort myself out or I won’t see 60 in 4 years.

Yesterdays session will have helped !

So previous week I counted calories all week and did 9 session of exercise for absolutely no change at all.

This week I lost my mojo, didn’t do anything after Tuesday (except a gentle commute to work). Didn’t go mad on the food but wasn’t that careful either, result:
105.5kg & 33.7%.

There really doesn’t seem to be any rhyme nor reason to it sometimes.

I was reading about sodium intake recently. Apparently after taking more salt than usual, the body retains a significant amount of water (and therefore weight), and the bit that surprised me is that this can take several days to fully correct. It was in the context of iv fluid administration in hospital mind.

I’m 70.5 kg at the moment having been unable to run or ride for 2 weeks. Despite being pretty careful with eating. Thats 1-2kg more than usual but I think may just be that I’m well hydrated right now, as haven’t been running around in the sun like a loon.

Hardly any cardio this week but managed 5 weight sessions & over 10k steps most days. Used MFP to keep an eye on calories & well under most days. Creeping down slowly.

I seem to be stuck over 74kgs now for a few weeks. Depsite upping the training a bit and running with the Mon-Fri intermittent fasting again.

Not sure why I’m not seeing much movement down to the 73s and 72s. I know it’s only a small change, but still.

73.9kg, this morning. Got down to 73.1kg yesterday morning after my audax. Spent most of the day eating. Most pleased that my 4 week average is 74kg, which is a good weight for me.

73.6kg today. Really pleased, and a bit surprised, as it’s been a low volume recovery week.

Used MFP again and well under calories most days (but not as much as last week) and end up putting a kg on. It’s definitely too generous with the calories it gives you for exercise and double counts some things as exercise and steps for the day. I’m going to knock 500 per day off my base point and see how I go from there.
I think I’m also going to change my gym routine for a while and do 3 days of weights and 3 days of cardio instead of 5 & 1 to see if that kick starts things again.

Height = 5’ 7.5” / 1.71m

30/04/24 - 11st 11.4lbs / 75.0 kg
(Couldn’t weigh in on the 1st May, as I was staying in a hotel for work.)

April Month = Loss of 3.6 lbs / 1.6 kg

2024 YTD = Loss of 11.0 lbs / 5.0 kg

I’ll take that, given I’m still struggling to get the right balance between exercise & eating/drinking.

Also, I’m back closer to my lowest weight in years (Aug.23 = 11st 8.8lbs / 73.8kg). :sunglasses:

And now a long way from my personal worst (Jan.19 = 14st 8.6lbs / 92.8kg). :astonished:

Cheers, Paul.

74.3kg, after another low volume exercise week. Average is still 74kg for the last 4 weeks, so keeping my weight on target.

Lowered my intake on FPB by 500 calories per day, was still well under it most days (about 5000 under for the week. 6x1hr at the gym (3 weights & 3 cardio/core) and the net result was:
105.9kg & 33.7%
I’ve never taken MFP as gospel but it usually correlated with the real world results, since I’ve started using it again it’s been all over the place. It gave me 738 calories for an hour of pretty steady cardio at the gym & 1188 calories for 11k steps (some of which were from the cardio)
I think it’s pretty much useless now and actually counter productive as it can give you a false sense of where you are.

Several good to very very good age groupers seem to this once a fortnight.
Some do a proper fast just coffee?!?
For a day?!

I copied the one below.

24 hours
As much black coffee as you like.
4 bananas ( this helps clear the gut) ( it works!)
One loon suggested bi carb but that’s just getting silly.

Did my hyrox sim yesterday ( fuelled during )

Then a banana every 4 hours or so, woke up really light, rest day today so won’t wreck my efforts.

I think I need to get a job!

31/05/24 - 11st 6.4lbs / 72.8 kg

This is the lowest I’ve weighed in over 10 years, maybe even 15! :sunglasses:

May Month = Loss of 5.0 lbs / 2.3 kg

2024 YTD = Loss of 16.0 lbs / 7.3 kg

Since personal worst (01/01/19) = Loss of 3st 2.2lbs / 20.0kg! :astonished:

Although my long road to lose weight has certainly been a rollercoaster!

I’ll definitely take that, given that I missed some training this month & ate out 12 times! :pig:
