Well done for yesterday and fingers crossed for the roll down
C’mon Jeff
2h42 on the bike, 27th M50, chomping up those places as expected.
Sub 5 looking like a bit of an ask perhaps, would need to run 1h31
Dig in power of the crowd etc etc
+1.
Hardest to motivate yourself when the target feels like it’s slipping - keep on it Jeff! 3.1km to go!
No roll down needed as 50-54 get 8 slots and I am 8th
Awesome work👍
The Estoril circuit is a really nice break isnt it?
What did you make of the run course? I was a bit worried with the elevation change but on the day it wasn’t as bad as I’d feared, if anything the variety in gradient was a good thing.
Great result, well done.
Brilliant @Matthew_Spooner congratulations.
Looks like Jeff nailed the run - kept on gaining places
Super consistent
Nice work sir
PS “Ironman 70.3 Marathon” is possibly the most confusing IM name
Great result for Jeff
Fantastic @jeffb
Well done @jeffb
Strong run @jeffb
Great result @jeffb Sounds like it went to plan but the bike course was just a bit tougher than hoped for. Got to respect that run, it’s in Marathon after all!
Just looking at the results for Cascais 50-54 was faster for all of the top places than 45-49. I would have finished 5th in 45-49 and I would have won 55-59 easily. It seems that I was in a super competitive AG
It’s that age category. Drops off dramatically after 55. It’s absolutely bonkers.
don’t you believe that!
Great racing @jeffb
8 slots, that’s massive! How many overall were there @Matthew_Spooner ?
Anyway, well done. Another very accomplished race under your belt.
Well done @jeffb
Saw it with my own eyes. The field for 55-59 at gravel races is about a third of 50-54, and it keeps dropping dramatically at each age group.
