cheers mate. Would rather be in the Maldives though! Any races going on?

Ha - no races but have been pacing Mrs T to try and get a top 10 Strava segment - there is only one on the island - 1.96km long

Improved her time since we arrived by almost a minute and currently would stand 7th on the all time ladies list but for some reason it’s not showing up

Rest day today - we go again tomorrow !

Currently in deepest, darkest Yorkshire registering for a 21k fell race, BL.

Between Whitby and Pickering and RAF Fylingdales

Survival is all I’m looking for and hoping the Peg’s will be enough!

Need to make sure the activity privacy settings are to allow everyone to see, in order to feature on leader boards. That might be it?

Good luck Jeff :+1:

Ah good shout!

Will try that

I survived! And what I was hoping for to get under 2 hours. Used the Pegasus T2’s which were great for a lot of it but really sketchy on a couple of bits including a muddy descent.

The field was really splitting after 3K and from 5K I managed to get a decent pace that wasn’t going to cripple me.

About 14k you pick up a decent track and knew I should avoid losing much time, but it also got chilly as it was on top of the moor.

They’ve added a 2.5K loop to the end and when I went through 18k my time was almost identical to the last time I ran in 2016, vaguely recall conditions were worse that day though.

There was a bit more climbing in the extra section but managed to get round in 1:55, it was about 20.5k.

Some pretty impressive times at the front of the race.

Fairly pleased with that as I’ve not done much fell running for a long time and put on a bit of weight in the last few weeks :joy:

Not sure giving blood in 3 hours was a great idea though :grimacing:

nice work!

Someone’s going to get that blood and wonder why they suddenly feel knackered

Don’t tell them what you’ve done today! Just be sure you’re really well hydrated. I once ran to the centre (about 5k) and was told off and had to drink an extra pint of water (explaining that on arrival I’d desperately needed to pee didn’t help) and another time they asked if I’d been exercising when they did the Iron test and I explained that I’d been for a run that morning, I was told I shouldn’t exercise before giving blood (apparently the salt in your sweat can impact the Iron test or something… the person was very vague on the why of why I should exercise).
