I’m also stupidly in for this. Done it 3 times before and almost guaranteed a p.w. depending how the next 6 months of misery (training) goes

Good man @Paul I’m sure you’ll enjoy some of it.

I was listening to the latest @Rooster podcast this morning & although you have a bit more triathlon background I thought you might be able to take something from listening to this fella’s prep & execution of his first IM.

Just paid my €2 fee to enter the Maratona dles Dolomites ballot :crossed_fingers:

And I plan to enter The Fred on Nov 2nd when charity entries open. I died on my arse this year at 100 miles and I want another go at it.

And now I’m looking at Mallorca cycling holidays in early April, avoiding the weeks near the 312 sportive at all costs as it’s chaos.

C’mon 2025!

Paging @Toyota_Crown

Slateman is introducing a full distance option next year, none of this flat course nonsense!

And it’s Wales so there’ll be rain and sheep :sheep: :joy:

Entered my first race for 2025, a local 5 miler at the start of February that’s flat and fast.

Maybe there is something in the air, but looking outside triathlon for something.

Not entirely sure what (don’t start with HYROX).

Pretty sure you said you’re done with Mallorca.
Bored with it, was it?

@APM - why wait so long?

Got my mile “PB” unofficial here.
First 2.5 miles downhill at 7%, then back up :joy::joy::joy: (or it was, ish, still a loop)

I’m thinking I cannot be arsed to drive to a race or stay overnight anywhere :see_no_evil:
Ruling out any Saturday registration or races more than 100 miles away.
Also, I don’t want to swim in the River Dee. Ruling out Deva triathlon :face_vomiting:

It’s just such an arsing going on doing these triathlons. You used to be able to rock up at 5am,
Register, off at 7am, finished at midday, home for Sunday lunch by 1:30pm :white_check_mark::heart_eyes:

Also; £270 for a Half :exploding_head::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::exploding_head:
They are talking the piss, right???
Plus £8 day license and service fee.
Jaysus.

I’m out :x:

Cause I’ll be hungover, innit.

Cycling is quite time intensive so probably not great with a young child? And Zwift racing isn’t for everyone.

Swimming?

Steady on old boy. We don’t want to do anything silly.

That said I’ve actually looked at some open water swim challenges.

Think the issue I’ve got is repeatable time in the pool. There are only so many slots I can attend (it’s a 30 minute drive away), and work is unpredictable with evening meetings and the like.

The 6 star ballot for Tokyo email has arrived, will put in for it later and find out in two weeks.

Lined up a couple of other options if I don’t get in
