2025 Races

That’s it but I’m less sure about the route for that although it suggests it might change?

Although Tahoe was nice.

Yes we really liked Tahoe as well

Not cheap over there these days

The cost is a factor, particularly when travelling alone as most accommodation is based on at least 2 people.

But Tokyo was going to be expensive as well.

I’d recommend the canyons race , but it was really expensive for accommodation and food etc . There isn’t much to do either around Auburn imo (even if it did self name itself the endurance capital of the world). I’m very tempted by the Javelina Jundred next October - still trying to find a race towards the end of Feb next year - needs to be somewhere warm …

It only looks like a small town but I’d only really be there for a couple of days and go to Yosemite or somewhere.

But I also like the look of the desert rats race. Early April should be warming up but not oppressive.

Javelina is loops isn’t it?

Yes 4 as someone who could embrace ocd …

I’ve watched some some clips of Javelina, it’s certainly a unique event!

Cleveland Steelman entered. Have done this previously ( ‘21 I think ). Back then ( pre Covid) it used to sell out in 2 days, I think last year you could still enter a couple of weeks before the race.

I don’t think it will sell out too quickly as it’s around the same time as Ironman Leeds which might have an impact.

I might make it this time!

It’s a great course. Nice lake, rolling bikes leg. Only thing with the run is it’s mixed surface with a lot of off road / track / field / gravel. Other than that it’s a fast course.

Got a solo entry for escape from Meriden next November

When I swam it was an annual event stopping in Ripon at the White Horse pub the night before. It has always been dry when I raced this so the mixed surfaces were never an issue.

Pulled out of next weekend’s New Forest 30km and entered the Arundel Trail Marathon late Jan instead.

You total Bastards was hoping for another few weeks to decide…

Might do an Outlaw and Cotswold event instead  :eyes:

I had a look at Oceanside, I think it worked out to be £450 :flushed:

Yeah, nah!

Yeah but the base price is £365.
Everyone knows processing fees dont count £37.44
(they should be made illegal imo, along with booking fees) Sort it out amongst themselves, event oraganiser, booking service etc

I agree its crazy.

Pretty sure I saw a Sprint advertised at £99 the weekend.

One of the many reasons triathlon is slowly dying.

Hmm, one for the Ironman thread but given the emails I’m getting a few races remain popular and even improving for some.

I read the 70.3 in Holland is either full or nearly and it was at best an average course. One in France as well. I get why Nice sold out but there seems to be a little upwards spike
