2025 Races

Entered Outlaw Half Nottingham 18th May.

A bit closer to Manchester Marathon than Id like. Three weeks. One of those will be used up regaining the ability to walk properly.

Maybe if I do some eccentric downhill running the soreness and muscle damage will be less.

Just about to write the same. Bloody hell!

Entered the Gin Pit marathon weekend

It used to be a TriTalk staple for some:

@repo
@knightliancer
@Toyota_Crown - usually turns up just before the off and traditionally blanks me :rofl:
@grom
@wiganer2.0

It’s the weekend before the South Downs Way 50 so it will be interesting to see how the recovery goes :flushed:

A weekend to do a marathon ?
Or … no…?!

One on Saturday

One on Sunday

Dead handy event as it’s only 10 mins from home

LO had her winter piano concert at church yesterday. I met a guy there who lives locally but is Italian (from the Dolomite region). He’s a climber, mtb fan and a bit of a runner.
We got talking ultras and he was talking about race that was ‘double Fan Dance’ and I thought he said it was called ‘The Blade’ but I can’t seem to find it.

Head of that one @Jorgan ?

I’ve heard of it in passing; presumably he’s doing it ‘clean fatigue’ i.e. running kit, so doesn’t really count :wink:

I’m not sure if he’s actually doing but mentioned it was run by an ex Forces guy, which sounds familiar!

Reject from WS2025

Same evening enters TP100 and SDW100

Glutton for punishment

Also considering a return to the North Coast 110 km to try and do it some justice - oh how quickly the memory fades

My nemesis race!

Tough luck Tunster!

I’d love to go back to SDW100, but on Uni collection duty that weekend. I have unfinished business with TP100, but not so keen…the unrelenting flatness is hard!!

Have entered the Ring of Fire in Anglesey - first year they have run it as a continuous race rather than over 3 days.

Oh wow - I hadn’t realised that that had turned into a non stop - that’s going to be a real toughie

Yeah I’ve watched a couple of films of that and it does look very tough.

Tunster’s ruminations about NC110km have me thinking now. 0/4 attempts so far, with the last edition being my worst by far.

One more go? :man_shrugging:t2: :man_facepalming:t2: :smile:

It’s always best to finish on a prime number.

(This is an approach I’ve taken in the past to ‘shall we have another beer’ and the logic also applies to “best not to finish on an even number” or “best not to finish on an odd number”… until bad decisions have been made all round. I see no reason the same shouldn’t apply here!)

Which sounds great in theory but I’ve just realised it’s 0/3 for far. :roll_eyes: :joy:

That’s when you apply “best not to finish on a prime number”!

A couple of local running races entered.

Put myself into the HYROX Glasgow ballot. Not sure why. Don’t think the shredded topless lads would take well to me beating them.

Anyway still fancy something a bit different.

May even go back to OCR.
