2025 Races

Disappointingly not but they actually trained for this race!

Bloody hell that was hot, the run is quite shaded but when not in the shade it’s beating down.

My swim was shite, just couldn’t get going, ran out of carbs on the bike and suffered for the last 10km or so. Started the run slowly, sipped on one of those beast 90g Precision Hydration gels then came back to life until about 14km where the pace tailed off.

It’s a great race though, really good course.

Id love that swim time and your bike split was 16 - 17 minute ish faster than mine last year.

Run… I dont think you can compare because the heat.

TRO is doing Vitoria-Gasteiz as well, 14k into the run so must have survived that spider :spider: :grimacing:

Good swim/bike as well.

I saw Harry Palmer pre race then the front of the men’s race as they came past to start their second lap, he wasn’t in the lead then though.

Approaching T2 and he’s smashing with the lead bike.

I saw that he was having a bike fit at Pearson Cycles “in preparation for his Ironman” a couple of weeks ago.

He was being fitted on an S-Works Tarmac, so I assumed it was for a road bike course :man_shrugging:

Fair play to him.

What was the deal with his crash?

you try running kwikker than 1h35 when your 56
2nd fastest run split in my AG. tbf I was hoping for 1h30 like at Weymouth and Outlaw Half recently, as the heat didnt bother me. tougher bike course tho, its like a mini-IM Wales. loved it, some lairy and technical fast sweeping corners. WCPGW

A few of us are entered into the Steelman (70.3) tomorrow but the weather is looking terrible with possible lightning then flooding and heavy rain during the afternoon :face_with_symbols_on_mouth: I’m not having much luck with triathlons this year but last week wasn’t too bad with the early start.

Could be lightning in the morning and the heavy rain looks set for halfway through the bike as it starts at 10am.

I’ve got my stuff ready and will see how it looks in the morning or on the way but not risking the roads if there’s flooding and poor visibility and I know they’ll be checking for the safety of people.

We’ve had a heavy shower here about an hour ago with almost immediate flooding due to the dryness and all the stormdrains being blocked.
