2025 Races

Despite visiting Wales regularly I’ve never been to Swansea - the dock area all around the race is pretty nice, enjoying it so far.

Upton upon Severn. The sprint du is the last of the world qualifiers. 90 mins to go and I am seriously thinking of running in my bucket hat

I survived the race finished 5th overall and 1st in the 50-59 AG. 1-4 were in the 20-29 AG. Booked a double header for Abu Dhabi for 2026.
I don’t have the run speed in the heat so gave up a few mins but took it all back on the bike. Transitions were slow as I decanted a litre of water over me each time so I could try and regulate my body temp. Racing in 34° with zero shade.

Well done, you might need to get used to the heat if you go there though! Unlikely in Scotland though :joy:

See if a local uni has a heat chamber?

Well done @Adam, cracking work.

Disappointingly not but they actually trained for this race!

Bloody hell that was hot, the run is quite shaded but when not in the shade it’s beating down.

My swim was shite, just couldn’t get going, ran out of carbs on the bike and suffered for the last 10km or so. Started the run slowly, sipped on one of those beast 90g Precision Hydration gels then came back to life until about 14km where the pace tailed off.

It’s a great race though, really good course.
