2025 Races

Looks like chickenboy got a Kona 26 spot :collision:

Shame the ratings aren’t on the app, seems very hit and miss, 2 races at the weekend have published them but two haven’t!

I’ve made it. My bike made it (thanks VeloYelo couldn’t recommend them enough). My bag however did not make the connection at Amsterdam.

Well, when I say “my” bag, I mean the bag that had all my wife’s stuff in it because mine was all in the cabin to protect against exactly this situation.

Safe to say this is only adding to her gleeful support of my Ironman adventure and I’m now being dragged around the shopping centre next to registration to buy her new stuff.

On the plus side it’s distracting from the increasing feelings of terror building inside.

The race will seem like a relief after all that Paul!

A relief compared to Adam’s terror a few years ago!

15.5hrs of not being moaned at to look forward to. Might deliberately add on an extra hour to the run.

They’re the reason his Mrs only has the stuff she’s wearing, cargo hold wasn’t big enough :joy:

What is it like over there?

I had this one pencilled in, more likely the 70.3 but was considering the full.

Add another 30 minutes for taking notes for me.

100% accurate. And don’t worry, I picked some more snacks up in the supermarket just in case I run out.

Do you actually put weight on during the race :joy:

I recall Bob Babbitt saying he put on weight during his first Hawaii Ironman - they weighed you a certain points on the bike and run to ensure you hadn’t lost too much. He confused them no end.

Couple of friends are doing the 70.3 in Tallinn this weekend, their bikes have arrived but no suitcases!

Luckily one put most of her stuff in the bike box or hand luggage, the other is currently doing it with no wetsuit and a pair of budgie smugglers if can buy some :grimacing:

Entered Dartmoor in a Day 50 and NC55. Going to hike them both, no running. One will be significantly easier to make cut off than the other!

Seriously considering NC110 now as an attempt to keep me motivated into the autumn

Yeah it’s been a disaster I think. Whizz left 17 bikes in Luton. Air Baltic in Gatwick loaded all the bikes as priority but left all hold luggage as the plane was too heavy.

Tallinn itself is great, and I’ve nothing to compare it to but event itself seems really well organised. Only about 1300 doing the full tomorrow I believe.

Reckon my bike is the only sub-1k effort in the whole of T1 :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Good luck. Enjoy.

That included my friends!

I liked Tallinn, it was generally very nice, but did stumble upon a decidedly rough area :grimacing::joy:

Not ideal for us slow coaches to be out until after midnight, but to be fair to the organisers they will do absolutely everything to make sure Tallinn has a swim. I thought the water felt lovely this morning (although all the Europeans, Americans and guys from Asia were moaning how cold it was haha). But I guess it’s a combination of water and air temp takes it below allowable? They’ve said water is 18.6 which is perfect to me!
