Currently I am undecided about bike for Nice. Was planning to use TT bike, however, I’ve been playing about on BestBikeSplit, and it appears that my Crux is almost as fast as my TT bike - the advantage is that I am so dialled into the aero position on the Crux that even though it may not be quite as Aero, I can hold it pretty much indefinately in total comfort, I can also climb in aero position. Climbing and Descending on the Crux will be faster than TT bike.

First & last 20k are TT flat, then rolling, the long climb just goes on rather than steep, then a lot of rolling at the top.

It’s probably 50/50 with all the time you’ve had on it, but if you can descend on the TT then it’s probably the one.

I have entered a race. My club’s hilly time trial, which is in two weeks’ time. Never been fatter, so Boxhill is going to be lots of fun. :face_vomiting:

Is it a descending TT? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Got the medical cert and all approved so guess I’m going to have to do this now!

Thanks for the write up.

Great insights.

Its a ‘would you rather’ get a some light hearted banter…

Snack-master or join the sandbagging gang?

Trust the training and planning.

On a more serious note, so glad the day went so well.

You are welcome.

How is the body feeling now?

Fine as long as I don’t have to handle stairs…

Bits, yes. But the painful bits go up.

It’s basically flat really isn’t it, can’t be more than 15m vertical between the start and finish!

EDIT I see they actually claim 49m difference, maybe it starts further down Juniper than I remember, or maybe the descent into that final ramp makes it feel so much shorter.

Do them backwards… works for a standalone Marathon, not sure an IM would make it any different.

Anyone else heading to Holme Pierrepont this weekend? National Relays, my club has 6 teams entered this year.

There was talk of our company entering a team as we’re working with GB Tri but haven’t heard anything about it for weeks.

Does anyone else have friends racing for Gee-Bee in Turkey this weekend? 2 of the people I’m following have clocked the swim at 2,400mtrs :see_no_evil_monkey: ….bike & run were a bit short though.

Lad I know did the sprint was 750m so that seems correct.

Probably sent them on 3 laps :joy:

Yeah, bike and run look short though

That swim distance is all the more ridiculous because it was an A➡️B course.

Were the competitors told that due to the tide/current assistance it would be equivalent to a proper course?

Has me smiling anyway
