2026 Hour of Power

Well, that was a grim little reality check

That’s including the downhill section through the jungle though - would have been hard to maintain power there.

It felt a lot harder than I expected… guess that’s what happens when you don’t ride a bike all winter and then have a pop at the Alpe.

Still.. bring on April

Thanks for this idea @bbt67 . Certainly wouldn’t have done that after work tonight without your kick up the behind

is the 2026 hour of power listening to her talk. 1minute seems like an hour

I did 310w for 70 seconds early in my endurance 90 minute session this morning and later in the session another effort of 360w for 61 seconds 5w/kg. Grim!

The 360w for 61s was discussing, felt like I had a plastic bag over my mouth and nose for the last 20 - 30s and legs were on fire, horrible.

Not as bad as the original post.

April - Target 210 watts for the hour, Z2 training for many or 5 watts higher than the March effort.

Who is going for an hour of power in April at least 210w or 5 watts more than in March.

might be pushing it for myself, 205w i.e plus 5 watts should be okay. On decent day, first half of April, 210w would be very hard, I would hope do-able but hard by the end of the month

Let the 60 minute grind begin.

Special appearance, yes you, @fruit_thief at least 220w for you.

Sorry, not sorry, cant remember the other results.

Im guessing Adam is up for about 300w

Aborted attempt here tonight.

Plan was to do a 30km crit for company/ motivation and then hang on at the end for the hour.

God laughed at that plan, I was toast at the end of the crit and would rather have swallowed my own eyeball than carry on for another 14 minutes at the same wattage.

Early bath.

Another day. Maybe Tuesday.

You only had to carry on at 112W for 14mins to average 210 for the hour.

I thought you had already done it this monthvon your TT ride outdoors wasnt that something like 212w ave 1h44?

ah, is 210 the target? I’m off the hook then :+1:t2:

I did 209w but it was NP so doesnt count on both levels, not 210+ and NP, Think the average was in the high 180s

As per the TT thread my actual hour of (tired) power was around 270W, 267W for the total ride but that was 66 minutes. HR was only 162 whereas I’d expect to be around 170 for something like a 25.

A little bit down but the injuries and lack of longer Zwift races haven’t helped.

I’ll take that though. Might actually try and use it to get some sessions on the wattbike, then again I’ll probably just do my usual half-arsed training of what I fancy when I fancy

Almost May, i’m trembling in anticipation already.

so far here: 215W in March (zwift), 219W in April (road)

so 220+ in May right? Stuff got real. (Not for you @jeffb , you get to soft pedal until November at least :flexed_biceps: )
