2026 Races

Amazing. I have hair. I could make the non binary category :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth:

My first Ironman was Austria (Klagenfurt) in 2006. I’m very tempted to do my final one in 2026, 20 years later. (I may even ride my 2006 Cervelo TT bike… probably the oldest TT bike anyone will be riding.) It would mean I have to start swimming again though

Love this sort of symmetry. I did my 2 x Wales 10 years apart. And plan to do so again in 2033.

Get it booked sunshine!

Someone on the old Transitions did that race twice and wrote about her experience. I keep thinking someone on here has done it as well?

There was an interesting section about it in the book i read about the fella that ran a marathon in every single country in 2 years. Really interesting book actually.

GFA times for next year, quite a drop-off for M60 men, if I can keep going for another 5 years or so :joy:

Priority entry for Hamburg 2026  they’d probably extend the bike for me :face_with_symbols_on_mouth::joy:

Edit: FML I’m guessing this is tier 1 pricing as well  how can they justify nearly 20% processing fees!

650 EUR

Individual entry

All-In Price Includes:
General Entry: 546.22 EUR +
Processing Fees: 103.78

EU residents in select countries. Pay over time with Klarna.

That’s utterly ridiculous :face_with_steam_from_nose:

If I was to say how I really feel @Jorgan would have to spend the afternoon moderating my post :joy:

Is this purely the cut for the online entry platform (Active or whomever)? If so it’s daylight robbery tbh, and just more money ‘to the Man’.

Not sure, card fees :man_shrugging:t2:

No-one would have a card with 20% fees; that must surely breach consumer laws. Must just be entry platform profit. Do Ironman own the entry platform now?

Sorry, I meant that card fees might be 1-2% but even that’s a scam.

I think they still use active but not sure if they own them :man_shrugging:t2:

i was mortified local fell race now £9.00 FFS

Yep, think I paid £15 for a TT recently and £12 for an Audax, I’m trying to retire!

I was looking at a LDWA event a while back. Think it was £18 and that included breakfast at the start and dinner at the end!

I’ve never been one to really baulk at big even pricing, mainly because it’s a big event! But throw in hotels, family if they attend and the general cost of stuff now, I do really think about the little and often local stuff.

If that’s Tier 1, what on earth would the last tier push it to?

yeah LDWA events are great value for money :+1:free tea/coffee before event, food at checkpoints & usually a hot meal at finish all for less than £20
