2026 Races

Mine are usually in branded sachets like Maurten so less of a problem, kind of guessing as long as there’s not huge bags of it or a dog isn’t interested they’ll let you through without the rubber glove treatment :grimacing:

Same as above. Never had any issues with legal white powder in unmarked bags or smaller tupperware.

Plus one for unlabelled white powder.

And for purely hypothetical interest, if police* suspect you of being a body packer, or a stuffer, they have to bring you to A+E to get a CT scan of your abdomen to look for the drugs.

But if when you’re offered one in A+E you decline, neither us or the police can do anything to force you to have one and the merry-go-round continues.

*UK police. If abroad YMMV.

Probably not the topic for it. But if you were carrying a half key in a clear plastic bag or tupperware in your hand luggage maybe thats the way to go. Hidden in plain sight? I mean I haven’t seen sniffer dogs at airports for a long time!

Apparently there’s a 3% success rate, but thought it might be worth a punt and a good chance to visit some friends who are there.

Hmm, would be drivable but only a couple of weeks before ADH, probably very hot as well!

And expensive

Entered a 100K Audax from York in late March, might need some negotiation though as it’s only a few days after I return from 2 weeks away! Worst case I’ll sack it off, only cost £9.

Probably enter another around Northumberland in April. (Edit: entered!)

1:47:57 for the Aintree Half today

Had mentally set 1;50 as the target so pretty pleased with that

First time in a long time I have done a half at my own pace and fairly pleased with the result

Nice.

We both ran within 1min 8 seconds of each other for a half today. Twined runs :man_running: :man_running:

Edit: I though it was 8 seconds when I first looked.

A bit of drizzle at one point but nothing to write home about

Felt very comfortable for 3 laps - the final was hard work and nearly hurled as I raced another runner up to the finish line (beat him)

@bbt67 good work - that’s pretty close!

I did the swimming club 1500m swim today. Just to test myself as I’ve not done a 1500 in ages. I was expecting a little over 30 mins and surprised myself with a 28.50(ish). Especially after the first 3 nights with a puppy :face_with_bags_under_eyes:

Guess I have to go quicker next year now.

Fell for this hook, line and sinker

Got priority so tier 1 but still as much as a full not that many years ago. It does have the flex90 deferral option if the leg isn’t better but need to check if it includes the race in 2027 or just elsewhere this year.

Looks like a nice destination and I’ll drive via the tunnel, but very close to the summer holidays.

Edit: I might have to go full time again at this rate :grimacing::joy:

Yeah, I just had a look purely to see how much the priority entry price was. €530 is mental for a half

I paid less than that so I’m guessing that could be tier 2 already. I think quite a few with AWA priority entry will fancy it.

It also includes the ripoff fees.

£64 booking fee… what? (booking fees should be banned)

middle of France holiday season & TDF season

not really going to get you pants pulled down an axx smacked

No thank you

I’d forgotten about the tour  I’ll check the route later, I thought their holiday season was august though :man_shrugging:t2:
