2026 Races

But will it go ahead and will they move the date?

Ive got trust issues with the T100 after they screwed many over with date changes and cancellations.

yes the million $ Question???!

Or could be the week before, even tho Swansea is just the week before that, but they do that with Weymouth & Tenby being only a week apart.

i fancy a crack at london t100 , not been to london for a good few years

I looked but logistics looked like a nightmare.

I think the French Riviera might be a goer for next year. I will wait and see what it is like.

Thought I better sign up for IM Copenhagen as it was Europe’s fastest selling out race this year. So now £685 lighter and a years training to go.

wow, just checked and there must have been tiered payments because it now costs £760. There’s a post saying over 1,000 places went in priority, so glad I booked when I did.

Wow £760 is brutal :open_mouth:

Yeah I got a priority link which has expired now I think, and for Kalmar.

Nice city, fast course, easy access and logistics, and usually not baking hot like something further south.

Edit: fark me that’s a lot of cash though!

Looks like Vitoria Gasteiz is doing a 70.3 as well next year

I’m going to get locked here!

As per the Greta thread I got the flyer about ADH2026, really keen to go back for some unknown reason! I think they’ve spaced things a bit better next year as well, fairly sure the duathlon, long, medium races were consecutive days this year. They’ve got a gap between the duathlon next year and long, then medium which would give a day of recovery if I want to double up.

A side quest is to get up the alpe in under 60 IRL, doubt I’d be doing that after 5 hours of cycling but after 25 minutes of running I’d have a chance.

Hopefully it won’t sell out quickly as I’ve got other things to enter and buy in the next few weeks!

It’s also the 20th anniversary.

Just posting so you don’t get locked out :+1:

I was at ADH this year as my gf did it, I didn’t bother in the end. Seemed a great race but yeah it was duathlon, long course, medium on consecutive days. The open roads meant it was a bit hectic on the climb but fine really.

A relative bargain at €245 for the long compared to Ironman.

It was a great area for cycling and I did plenty riding when we were there, didn’t make sub 60 on the Alpe but was knackered after the Croix der Fer!

Did the GF enjoy it?

Yeah, I loved the other cycling when I was there about 14 years ago, the Croix der Fer was really tough! I think I did ~62 minutes but I’m not completely sure where the timed finish is, if Zwift is anything to go by I’ll have to put out ~270W for the hour.

What was accommodation like? I stayed just outside Bourg at a Uk ran B&B sort of, I checked and they’re still there I think but tend to do bigger parties than an odd person now. Not really into camping!

Yeah she found it tough but enjoyed it. We’ve done loads of big mountain cycling so wasn’t phased by the route.

We stayed in a big apartment hotel in Alpe d’Huez, I’d have preferred Bourg as I went 3 different ways up to ADH on my rides which was pretty tough after 100km+ of riding! It was logistically easier staying there after the race tho.

Weather was perfect for race day, not cold enough to get cold on the descents but not baking hot for the climbs either.

Not stalking you Jeff but I really fancy ADH again too. Are you thinking of doing long course or short?

Think my best time up the Alpe was 62 or 63 so a sub 60 would be a nice goal too

Could make it a TT 26 smackdown??

ps ADH autocorrects as ADHD

Oh god, what have I suggested :grimacing:

I was half thinking of doubling up, doing the duathlon and either the full or medium, as there’s a day between the duathlon and full that might be achievable. Or do the medium and more cycling. The bike route is about 120k now though!

If I was going for a sub 60 it would either be a general ride or in the duathlon, which could be better in race mode!

had a bad feeling you might say that :face_vomiting:

I’ve done the short a couple of times & stayed in Bd’O on both occasions. Ad’H is a soulless concrete jungle & the idea of climbing back up there at the end of a day out would twist my melons :joy:.

I was lucky with my weather. Although really hot on one of them that gets scrubbed off a bit as you climb. One of the longs I watched was equally hot & there were lots of cyclists sat at the side of the road & a friend actually needed a drip fixed. The other long was horrendously cold & wet which didn’t improve with altitude :grimacing:.

Great cycling in the area, I did the Marmotte route - without that final climb up to the concrete jungle - on both visits & lots of other great climbs.

Would be a difficult sell to the wife nowadays as although there’s plenty of shit for me to do I feel we’ve done everything for the less athletic.
