Oh yes, I remember that now, news of it came out on the afternoon/evening the day before.
Having checked, England lost 4-1 to Germany, so not a must-watch match.
Don’t worry, I’m not the most memorable! I remember someone called Big Willy too!
At the time my dad worked for a holiday company, so we stayed in a hotel at derwent water.
Having looked at the Epicman routes, the run is multi-loop, probably a lot easier to manage than sending people up on a 13 mile loop onto a hillside.
Anyway… back on topic.

Lanza 26 is officially not happening for me.
We just had an annual leave planning meeting at work, and May half term has been fully booked by other people, so I can’t have it.
The crazy idea was starting to gain a bit of momentum in my head, think I may have dodged a bullet, will have to be a local sprint instead like normal

I’m following them on facebook to see if they say how many spaces are left in the hope I can pay next month!
It’s been a very expensive month for me again already with cars

just too many moving parts here right now, kind of difficult to think about next August.
I think I’m going to bury head in sand a while longer

Not sure I’ll be at the Outlaw half in May, probably a bit early in the season as Barca is in October and keeping up motivation to swim that long won’t be easy. Not totally ruling it out though.

I’d like to do both.
Notts is a bit early though.
This year, two-three weeks before I was thinking sh1t the waters cold, and I don’t feel ready. Then the hot weather kicked in and it was okay (plus Marathon training carried over well).
Some years, most, I’d think it would be chilly.
Was a great event this year though.

Saw something saying over 1000 entries already, I suspect that’s all their races but a positive start for them.

Does that mean the cheap entries have sold out?

I didn’t look at that much detail but guess it’s why there’s so many sold so quickly, rather than something like Roth.
I was chatting to a mate about Helvellyn and how good value it is. Checked IM Swansea for net year - it’s now over £400. WTAF!

Id like to do that again but not at that price.
I could do with being 5kg lighter to do Swansea, again.. lol.

Just entered the Taunton half marathon Sunday 1st March 2026. Something to keep me honest over first UK winter for a couple of years
Hopefully legs will allow a bit of training before then

I don’t think that’s much of a target for you unless it’s all uphill or running on Lego!
Good start to the season though and when the calf improves it will give you something to aim for.
I reckon you need to be just under 20 for a 5k?
