Could you take a photo of your washers and bolts for me, please?
My padding is the same thickness…from Aerocoach
Yes i remember that, but i convinced myself my bars were too tight.
But seeing @Poet’s pic up there has made me think twice. Will check that again. ta
Yeah, if you can get that one from Poet, just do that. It’s going to be more accessible than behind the saddle, and quite a bit faster by being able to drink without breaking position
I think it was the Ironman fuelling thread actually.
My bars are really close!
Yes that’s the downside of the standard wedge solution - the need for angled spacers. I bought some Revolver 20 degree wedges that are milled aluminium and don’t require angled spacers. Disappointingly expensive though, but a perfect solution.
Yes, just scrolled through 3 times making sure i didn’t miss it! haha!
I did the same thing with the aerocoach equivalents
£120
I think the thread title needs updating ![]()
So your wedges aren’t aerocoach?
But the natty revolver ones?
(Which look like a way better solution!)
Plus the arm rests, base bar and extensions
At least my Garmin and bottle mounts cost around 40p
No, all aerocoach
I just peeled the stickers off my arm rests
What about a thin layer of padding (like neoprene) but cut out the bolt/spacer locations then put your pads on top of that?
However thick the padding, the bolts will always create a lump, but if you have cut outs for them most of the height will be taken care of.
Cant you use the bolt heads to crush more grapes?
Yes, that’s what the aluminium high sided armrests I ended up with, after returning my aerocoach ones, came with. So I would think your suggestion would work to create a flatter surface for the foam to then sit on
Actually looks like plenty of room in there. I’d massively underestimated. Just need to bodge the garmin mount in somewhere and should be good.
I’ve got a tight little saddle ‘bag’ thing I could use for spares.
Yeah, loads of room. Move the garmin up by the hands. It’s easier to see up there anyway
@gingerbongo I have one of those gorilla BTS bottle holders too. Happy to post if you want.
Did you have to faff about with bar tape to get the garmin mount to fit? Mine doesn’t fit over the bar tape near hand position.
