Someone clean
I think you have as much trust in Bolt as I do
the only clean sprinter of a generation
Working under a sprint coach in a squad with more than a couple of convicted dopers, in a country not renowned for their tough stance on doping(3 month bans) and with no real AD organisation until 17 years ago and did 1 OOC test leading up to 2012
but yes nothing to see here
True, but I agree with Hammerer that I think his point is the demise of the prestige of the jump events in attracting talent.
The current shoes alone would be expected to make some impact on take off speed, even if other factors are negligible.
So either JE was a true one-off great (partly true) or the others with the potential to beat him since havenāt taken up field events.
Likewise with Bolt, who is becoming increasingly confirmed as a outlier performances when current races are being won in 9.8. There are some current wonder kids breaking his junior records, but who knows whether theyāll push on from 10.0 as expected over the next few years.
Exactly, so forget records!
I still feel that Boltās stature as a physical outlier from the norms (10cm taller than almost any previous record-holder), and his exceptional performance from a young age gives him some credibility. He worked hard in training to develop his performance and has always been so visibly different in stature and technique from those around him, and no-one similar has yet emerged to challenge that. A lot of swimming records used to alternate between large muscular types and short spindly types with high turnover, but the sport has now mainly fallen to muscular giants who are selected early and fed and trained like racehorses with ever increasing performance until the point where their mind develops sufficiently that they start to rebel against the training load.
Thatās it, he just worked hard in training, if only every other sprinter did that rather than doping ![]()
I guess you havenāt seen Leon Marchand, Popovici or Pan Zhanle
they are big, but not in swimming terms. Marchand is 6ā2 and 77kg, Popovici is about 6ā3 but only 80kg, PZ is 6ā2 Definitely the very top seems to be going back to technique over muscled giants. Smaller swimmers / late developers have to improve technique to stay in the game, then when they finally grow up have size and technique on their side. Certainly at AG level you see the 13 year old with a beard smashing everyone; but rarely is that happening at 18 still
Carl Lewis is perhaps the closest to Bolt physiologically; they were both taller and leaner than the others. CL got busted obvs.
What am I on?! Iām on my saddle busting my ass 6 hours a dayā¦
CL kept his medals though
I thought his sample from the LA games conveniently got lost in California!
Five or six or Boltās training group got pinged. Also the well known doper Angel Heredia says he worked with Boltās coach.
and up until 1year before Bolts WR Jamaica didnāt even have a national AD system, with the country refusing to be part of the region wide Caribbean version, then didnāt do OOC testing until 2012, at least not properly
wasnāt the head of JADCO something to do with the sprint squad around that time as well or did I make that up?
āIām sorry for you. Iām sorry you canāt dream big and Iām sorry you donāt believe in miraclesā
The same guy who dated an Olsen twin in the 00s.
I wonder if he visted the Islandā¦
Haha I saw a thing about Armstrong where someone was aksing what if he stayed in triathlon and raced clean, blah, blah, blah? But he was part of a cycking squad at that time. That squad had one kid badly affected by being doped by their coach. The coach ended up in court and it was found he had doped them. I wouldnāt be surprised he wasnāt racing triās clean at all.
Iām seeing a lot of smoke; which means there will inevitably be fires somewhere.
I was just worried about googling them in case I was put on some register, even though they must be 40 now ![]()
They were 36 & 21 at the time. Nothing on Leonardo.
I wonder how well the US Virgin Islands kept their āimmigrationā records back in the day; Iām sure someone has tried that avenue and potentially failed for whatever reason.
does it?
those who break records tend also to be winnersā¦
Incredible finishes to the ladies 10,000mtrsā¦ā¦
ā¦ā¦& menās 10,000mtrs at the World Champs.
The menās marathon was ridiculously close finish too.
