Bike Candy (or not!)

I do like a pretty beam bike.

Yes, I do like the look of a Beam bike. However, I wonder if having the rear wheel un-faired is slower than a seat tube…

Interesting that it’s not disc brake compatible

They were hoping to sell GrahamO a few framesets.

No one mentioned the new Canyon Speedmax. It’s not cheap, but I like it although not quite ā€œcandyā€. integrated fluid, bento and tool box down by the BB. The front end can be raised by 110mm from standard and those bars are very adjustable.

Love that… my canyon is 8 years old now…

How do people clean those integrated fluid boxes… the speedfil boxes are hard enough but at least they detach from the bike!

not World Triathlon (ITU) legal yet. the original Reap TT is so no doubt Reap will be applying to have this made legal (might even be in the process)

Its actually just a bladder that pulls out and can be replaced also.

@Hammerer I REALLY didn’t need to see this. I so cant justify that… but its so nice. Love all the integration and adjustments.

It is so well designed

take a look at how the tool box works!

8k for the SLX with ultegra and 10k for the DA CFR. CFR has better carbon in the frame but the two modules ā€œlookā€ identical bar a few grams the DA group and the fact the dearer one comes with 858 zipps rather than the DT Swiss wheels.

Watching the launch now…

How much is it?

Ā£12.4k for top end Etap…
I’d settle for the Di2 CF at Ā£8k mind

Id go the ultegra if I even had 8k for a bike. Not sure 10k for the DA/Zipp/lighter frame option would be worth extra the investment.

I don’t dislike any of the new superbikes from the major manufacturers but they do seem to be getting very formulaic over the last few years. Take the stickers off and you’d do well to tell them apart, with the obvious exceptions of the few beam bikes that have had a resurgence.
I guess as they get refined they all come to the same conclusions, just as cars have got more similar over time as they went from a random designers sketch book to the wind tunnel.

Agree, the main thing that i like about this is the hidden storage rather than having bulky bolt on containers everywhere, I really dislike the Shiv Disc for instance. This seems clean and simple more like a TT bike of 10 years ago.

The canyon is better… but is it over twice as good…?!

5 k buys some bling wheels and a bit of coaching…

Yeah, I think that is where TT bikes & Tri bikes have diverged and the slightly different usage has prompted additional features on the Tri bikes compared to the stripped down TT bikes/
