Horrible angles on this. Looks like it’s been squashed
WTF is that abomination on the top tube?
Must be some weird bento box.
Truly awful.
That’s ridiculously short, it looks like a child’s frame on full size wheels
Grim
I bet that would be fun in the crosswinds back from Hawi
I quite like that
I’m guessing for a shorter lady?
Do any female pros still use 650 wheels? Not seen any for a while
The bars are way in front of the steerer, so I’m not sure it is that short. Must have funky handling though. And the thing behind the steerer looks like a massive air intake from some chav corsa. Maybe it gives the ‘engine’ more power
Yeah I assumed it was for a petite female.
I believe @JibberJim other half uses 650 wheels
Thats what happens when you squash a 56 P3 into the back of a Golf!
Her “road race bike” is a 650c aluminium frame from the last millenium.
Her hill climb and triathlon bikes are also 650c, however in every proper big road race she’s done she uses 700c bikes 'cos of service cars and needing to be able to get any wheel.
You might be right but if there was an 80/100mm stem on top of a conventional steerer I don’t think there’s be much in it.
I’m guessing that monstrosity on the top tube aligns with a standard bottle in the bta cage, they probably should have put one in for the photo.
Either way, agree re the handling, that’s got to get proper squirrelly.
The bottle cage looks too high too. Or the rider is not getting very low.
Yeah, I think it’s a fairing for the bottle mounted on the bars. The trailing edge is so steep because the frame is so small. The picture in this article shows a much shallower angle down to the top tube - Kú Cycle launches innovative new triathlon bike - Bike Gear - Tri247.com
You can’t really tell from the side-on picture, but it’s got the same extra wide forks and seat stays as the Hope/Lotus bike that BC used on the track.
Same seller has this and a Zipp beam frame too
Tempted with the Zipp…
Although I do already have one…in red…which is faster…
Loving that. And actually really tempted to bid. Wonder how much it will go for.
Watching
don’t think so. just an oddball. nothing really ‘Softride’-y about it. the ex LBS owner vendor in Stone had a Softride tandem too!
