I’ve been watching eBay, too, but there’s little to no saving over a sale frame or RRP (maybe £300 cheaper, and when spending £800 on an eBay frame, I’d probably just pay the extra for new)
Chatting to a pal who owns a Lynskey Helix - he loves it. One of the reasons he got it was potential resale value if he didn’t like the Ti.
Ride a Ti bike for a couple of years and take care of it, then the value drop of it isn’t going to be huge.
I have 2, and Mrs FB has one - both of us have an Omega Alchemy (a precursor from Mark Reilly to the Enigma brand run by Jim Walker), and I have an Enigma EVO MTB (they didn’t make many).
Another Ti fetishist here:
Van Nicholas Euros for road duties, Litespeed Blade for TT and Dialled Bikes Kobe Ti for MTB.
Ps. Be very careful if you Google that last one, especially at work
The chap sounds extremely talented. How on earth do you go about making your own derailleurs? And a floating chain line to keep a straight chain line?! It’s almost like he was wasted as a cyclist, he should have been a designer for one of the big bike brands!
