Bike Candy (or not!)

Yeah if everything else on the bike was black and no logos, and my FTP was 350W, then I’d rock that with gold shoes, gold sunnies and black-out kit.

But my FTP is 250W and I’m skint and they’re disk brake and I don’t dress like a ninja so that’s a no from me.

Yeah with the green frame they are vile. Satin black frame and they could work I think.

Something for everyone in this collection. :astonished:

And that excludes the spare wheels.

Reckon we could all chip in and divvy them out?

That guy must be a fence for stolen bikes, right?

I really can’t figure this out as to why he has all that and then puts his mobile number at the end.

@Jgav – A TriTalk time share scheme perhaps?

@Whisk – Yes, either an honest-ish dealer (see below), or a very stupid criminal.

@awildt – I think the one advert is a way of reducing Ebay advertising costs.

Then the phone number allows private sales, without any Ebay fees.

this bike came up in my FB memories this morning from 2017. I was Chief TO at a tri when an athlete rocked up with this Falco bike. It wasn’t on the WT approved bike list and never would be as the manufacturer was no longer in business. The guy racing on it had only ever used it in IM events and wasn’t aware of the WT/BTF ruling on beam bikes. I let him race on the proviso that if he was in a podium spot his result would be annulled so only those racing on legal bikes would get a gong. He didn’t place as it happened.

Shame - it really looked smart and was so clean you could eat a meal off it!

That is lush… are beam bikes not allowed at UK tris then? I didn’t know that. Always wanted one but that would dampen the enthusiasm considerably!

they are allowed if they are on the World Triathlon approved bikes list for non-traditional or unusual frames. Because of their inherent “unsafe” design, the manufacturer needs to submit results of crash tests to show they are not going to cause problems when racing.

This is the current list:

hmm interesting

Not 100% loving those for some reason, perhaps the Dimond

they all look kind of chunky

edit: actually maybe it’s the aesthetics of the horizontal top bar and then a seat post.

I love the old Zipps where the beam went straight up to the saddle

im guessing you’d be having none of that as TO eh FB?

but little saddle height adjustment, so i had to make a bracket to raise mine…

It’s hideous!

The latest Scott Addict or Foil is about £14K I think, pricing a lot of people out of the market.

Been looking at TT bikes, there’s no Cervelo TT bikes in the country apparently. Got suggested a different brand but electric gears only which increases the cost and although I’ve had them and like them I’d rather pay less and have mechanical gears.

It looks like a hunchback

Pssst, I can point you in the direction of a 54 p5 disc identical to mine. They might still have it in stock
