Didnt know where to put this, all tour bikes valued by GCN :money_mouth_face::money_mouth_face::money_mouth_face::money_mouth_face:

AI generated bikes look great.

What the fuck are the chimeras they are putting on them though? Transhumans?

I just assumed the rider in the top pic was angry with someone, and the rider in the second pic was in a hurry to get to work at the Swan Lake matinée.

On a local Facebook used tri and road bike site. Trying to tell myself I don’t want it. Right size too. Must. Not. Look. :see_no_evil:

15000 QAR is about £3,300. Reckon there’d be some flex too :see_no_evil::see_no_evil::see_no_evil:

Dura-ace as well! I’d delay buying your second alphafly and put the cash towards this!

rim brakes - does that make it 3 , 4 years old?

Maybe, not sure how long that style of dura-ace has been out for. Wheels are worth a few quid, although that front could get twitchy

Looks like Di2 as well and I’m not sure it’s gone outside the house :joy:

(not really, just made that up)

Will you have any left when Mrs FT finds out?

If that were XL and I was nearby I’d bite his hands off. The wheels alone are worth £2k Zipp 858 NSW rim brake/SRAM XDR | eBay

That’s a lovely bike, same model that Frodo won 2019 Kona setting a new Kona record at the time… so it is fast.

Rim brakes, so you will crash on the first descent obviously. Silly wavy Zipp wheels, but also fast, need to check if they are tubeless ready (not a deal breaker, but I am all sold on tubeless). Shimano 9100 groupset - last gen 11 speed, same as mine, is wonderful, the front shifting is so smooth - you may need to upgrade the battery to allow syncro shift (although I think that 9100 had the newer battery)

A current equivalent bike would be in excess of £12,000 and benefits would be marginal (except you won’t die on a descent with a modern disc brake bike)

If you’ll post it I’d possibly have it myself for the parts!

Is there much need for hard braking in Qatar?

I hope you’re being ironic

Whilst I did have some scary moments over the years at St Polten, I still survived the descents on 00s tech! After the first year, I obvs felt much more confident having ridden the course and knowing the nasty corners/junctions.

Yes of course

Rim brakes are fine with Carbon wheels, especially modern carbon wheels like the Zipp 858 NSW which will have brake tracks that grip in the wet.
I do have a set of Lightweight Milenstein wheels that are scary as hell in very wet conditions. I just ride on Zwift if it is wet

Rim brakes reduce the value of a bike by 50%. Another advantage of Rim brake bikes is that price of a second hand disc wheel is also much lower, so could probably get a nice Zipp Sub 9 disc for well under £1000

are you familiar with the Toyota Land cruiser? :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I imagine they’d stop you quite abruptly on their own.

Get behind me in the queue. I’ll take the wheels for £1k
