Spent a couple of hours this afternoon with 3x Scottish Commonwealth Games cyclist Drew Wilson who has a bike fit studio in Lennoxtown.

Amazing guy, really interesting, helpful, and obviously knows his stuff.

Big changes to saddle height, bar height, bar angles, saddle position, cleats. The works. Who would have thought taking a hand-me-down bike from your father-in-law and going ‘yeah, feels about right’ would mean everything was in the wrong place

Clip-on aero bars fitted too. Basically he did a fit designed to give me a position that suits my status as a ‘turn up and hope for the best, and finish somewhere near the back’ athlete - so comfortable and efficient rather than massively aggressive or aero. And is user friendly enough to reflect that I only have one bike that needs to work for everything.

Feels like a very good use of £175 - would really recommend him to anyone up in this neck of the woods.

Cool Robert Millar (now Phillipa York of course) mural too.
