Only on the front! :joy: And I didn’t even know I ordered that! :joy:

That Vitoria will be a prick to fit - once it’s on though it should be fine. Should have left my old one on there and saved you the trouble

I finally got the bugger on. I did the valve extenders as tight as I could, but i’m not 100% convinced by them.

If that thing is flat tomorrow I’m gonna give up on tri and go back to running.

Did you use any PTFE tape on them?
Have you got latex tubes? They always lose a bit of pressure anyway.

Don’t know what ptfe tape is.

Yes, latex. :+1:t3:

Plumbers use it to seal the joint between pipes. Wrap a couple of turns around your valve thread before screwing the extenders on to stop any leaks, threads on their own aren’t usually air tight.
You can get it at most DIY places, cheap as chips.

I made that mistake once. Learned my lesson when I had to do an evening 10 on my alu training front with carbon specific brake pads :scream:

@gingerbongo, I’m just happy that your cycling maintenance skills are on the same level as mine.

How’s the tyre this morning @gingerbongo :crossed_fingers: ?

Haven’t been down the shed yet :grimacing:

:see_no_evil:

IT’S STILL UP!

:tada:

If I get a puncture on race day though, that’s literally game over. I don’t think I’d have 25 mins of patience to change it in the side of the road! :man_facepalming:t3:

It won’t be that bad now you’ve had it in the rim once

I know you don’t want to do this but with tight tyres, I’ve always found it useful to take them off and remount.

They seem to go on better then and makes any roadside incidents much easier to deal with.

@FatPom you are absolutely correct my friend! :joy:

To be honest, I can handle the tough tyre, as frustrating as it is. The difference with this one was that the inner didn’t want to sit nicely on the rim as I (hand) lever the tyre on like normal. So I kind of had to poke it in with my finger (until it got too tight) then pop the next section of tyre on.

I don’t mind the graft, I’m just petrified of pinching the inner. Now it’s on I’m loathe to risk it and ruin an expensive inner. I’ll probably just risk it.
