Brands I don't trust

Following on from the equipment malfunctions that @funkster had at the weekend, are there any brands or equipments that you will no longer spend your money on? They can be justifiable distrusts or unhinged & absolutely on you :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: .

  • Press fit BBs
  • Zoggs goggles…had a pair snap more than once
  • Anything HUUB…made of butter & a bit chavvy
  • Nike…give me niggles/injuries & build quality is suspect.

Any BB except good old fashioned standard, but not the Italian version

Eff all at the aid stations in the latter part of the Anglesey Coastal Ultra and then the entire finish line closed up and packed away by the time I finished - not even a cup of tea available after 34 miles in January - and I was by far not at the back of the field

Love this.

I could also do the reverse, and give you a list of brands I adore. Concept2, Panasonic, Mercedes, ON Running, Garmin, list goes on…

Most reliable car I ever owned was an Audi (Subaru too) although I often bought junk

My TT hasn’t been bad over the years but maybe they were better 22 years ago!

I wouldn’t say the Skoda is crap, I just hate it for being annoying :joy:

Nike trainers have got worse in recent years, although the T5’s are good but I’m going to try Brooks again

The coach at our tri club wagged a one man war on them. So many snapped at training . Every time he would post a picture and tag them on twitter. They blocked him eventually

Did they used to do the Dambuster at Rutland water? They did something similar, I was very much MoP, but just in the top half and they were packing up as I crossed the line. Pretty shit for anyone afterwards especially as it was an Oly and likely to have a few first time entrants.

I think that’s more a genre.

Was that bought from new, and just started doing that with no spillage or anything?!? Blimey … you really would have assumed they’d have resolved that!

Yep, ex-demo done less than 7k miles!

I certainly looked after it, God only knows what happened to it beforehand.

Went into the garage 4 times to sort out, after the two year warranty ran out they didn’t want to know.

Sweaty arse from all the spinning?

Increasingly frustrated with Vodafone. I’ve paid for EU roaming last 2 years and it hasn’t worked, and my daughters contract has it included and no joy in Paris last week

I was thinking my zoggs goggles have lasted for ages. Then realised I pretty much always use my arena goggles.

I find Bosch stuff to be great, from white goods to windscreen wipers.

EE coverage and speed is appalling for months now.

I got an add on for some roaming but doesn’t include some of my recent visits :joy:

Yeah I’ve been with Vodafone since '98 and it’s certainly gotten worse in the last 10 years. Is it just that mobile networks can’t cope with all the traffic these days, ageing infrastructure? Although that doesn’t explain our lack of roaming.
