Thank you - I’ve sent them an enquiry so will check it out
Is there an app where friends can track you on the course so they know when you’ll be coming past etc… and where you will be
There’s a tracker for splits etc on the Roth website but not a dedicated app like Ironman
Hey everyone,
Hope you’re all getting some winter training done, I’m on the opposite end of the spectrum and loving the Dubai winter so cramming as much training in as my fragile body will allow
My travel plans are getting finalised and it is looking like I will jump on the TriTravel tour to make it simple but hopefully my friend in the UK is looking to come and support and we would do a road trip from the UK.
Has anyone driven to roth before? Any advice on fun things to do on the way and on a cool itinerary to extend the way back to a 4-5 day drive?
We drove there in 2010 in our motorhome and stayed on a campsite close’ish to the race venue. But we didn’t really do any fun things on the way there - drove it over 2 days from Calais.
After we did a little tour to the Alsace region on the way home - think we stayed in Colmar
We drove it in 2016 in a day after the night ferry from Hull. I recall an extremely long very straight boring road. On the way back we did a mini 3 day Euro tour which was fun, then the chunnel home.
I drove when I went and also went via Hull, I recall it was a long drive and not helped by roadworks and the start of their summer holidays.
I went to Nuremburg & Munich in the days after, both of which I’d recommend. Got the train to Munich though and was staying on the outskirts of Nuremburg.
Also drove to Hull - ferry across to Amsterdam and then stopped in Bonn overnight on the way down - stayed in Nuremberg
Stayed in Amsterdam in the way back for a couple of nights with the family
