Nudist night at the Arlington baths (swimming pool in glasgow) not having the desired effect of pulling the punters in, unless the punters like pulling themselves off

Right, I get it now!!!

Podcast title is:

" Is Weight Management as Simple as Calories In, Calories Out? "

Following Betteridge’s Law of Headlines, the answer to the question is “No.”

Problem solved.

The questioning in that Spector video is moronic.

Is the interviewer a Dragon from Dragons Den? I thought I recognised him from my cursory glances at the tv last week.

Yes, I’ve not seen the TS interview but enjoyed a few others he’s done.

I’ll stick it here.

I plonked on 2kg last weekend; I decided on Tue to just have 2 meals each day and it has gotten me back down below what I was before. I have either dropped Breakfast or lunch. Still ‘experimenting’ with what feels best. I do find it easier to skip breakfast; yesterday I took the dog out for a gentle run at 7am, and didn’t eat until midday. I think I’ll just not exercise ‘depleted’, so today I’ll do a 60 min Bergan run off my last 2 meals. (I wouldn’t do this if I was training for an Ironman though!)

My problem seems to be ‘breaking the seal’ then feeling hungry more throughout the day.

I get that also, but its after about 8pm if I’ve had a “light” calorie day I end up in the cupboards hunting sugar like a kid in a sweet shop

my problem is wine…

…and food…

and my general lethargy…

When I am on it I go full Keto with no calorie restriction,
Works for me, YMMV.

The human body is too complex and varied to simplify the process down to a simple CICO formula.

Could there be a link?

Calorie restriction is what causes weight loss on Keto, the same as intermittent fasting, Paleo, Atkins or any other “trendy” diet

I can only talk from my own experience.

Four months last year, as close to zero carb as I could get. Daily intake meticulously tracked at 2700-3000 kcals per day. Consistent 3-4lbs lost every week.

I put six pounds back on when I went back to carbs, the rest has stayed off.

Cholesterol levels improved, energy levels improved.

Like I said YMMV.

CH2O , the clue is in the chemical formula, and I don’t expect its the carbons.

yes…i am so lethargic that i sit down on the sofa with nothing to do and therefore fill my time with a glass of wine…

We can agree on that point.

Would expect around 1kg total add on from low to high glycogen stores (~200-250g glycogen, 800g water)

This ongoing chest issue has ruined any chance I have of getting back to “racing weight” and not doing stuff does make good food choices harder somehow, and boredom means reaching for the cookie jar, but I have found that (contrary to the other thread although i did do about 5k total of WU/CD, “strides” and drills yesterday) slow running means I get less chest issues and the little walk breaks to bring HR back down means I’m doing ~4-5k now and feeling good when I get home (don’t video my form though whatever you do  ) so who knows where this might lead.

You’re using this chest issue to follow AC’s dictats on training zones aren’t you?

I bet your lungs had a workout last night, shouting a bit?
