Commonwealth Games 2022

Aussies did good too, had to travel halfway round the world which must put them at some disadvantage to home nations?

Dominant performance by GTB, and great to see Non Stanford close out her career with a medal

Think ITU athletes are fairly used to schlepping round the world, so I’d imagine only a minor disadvantage. 1st Aussie female runner looked a bit lame and lost a chunk on the run.

Great, exciting racing and a superb spectacle.

Most of them are based in Europe for the European summer. They race for a french or German team through the season and that pays for a few living expenses.

You can tell South Africa is a nation of swimmers. Top rank swim splits and then it all falls apart

Jamie Riddle’s dad used to race my brother. That ages us all a bit.

Certainly at the moment, they’re the dominant, form athletes anyway.

Is it me or did he cut his last stroke deliberately and glide in?

After the heat he was saying phrases like “where do I go from here” I’m think retirement is on the cards.

Didn’t shave his tash off either

Last 25 his stroke became really choppy almost like he thought fcuk it , but swimming hard day after day takes its toll. Hes also been open about his struggles since the Olympics, didnt swim for 6mths done dancing and just tried to forget the stresses of the pool. I recon he may call it quits as well after his interview and then that.

Has 4x200m always been an event? How similar are the teams to the 4x100m?

Yes one of the original events more recent for women though think it first appeared in Sydney, maybe Atlanta.

Its pretty much 100 and 200 swimmers, you have to remember whilst some 100Fr swimmers will specialise in 50s, others do 200s and they can all swim a fast 200. Its once or hits 400 the demands change a lot.
