Adam Peaty, who finished fourth in the men’s 100m breaststroke final: "Yeah, when it comes down to the race sometimes it doesn’t go to plan. I was hurting from the 50m but you know that’s a lack of training, lack of racing… it is what it is. I can’t overthink it. I’m a fighter and sometimes you have got to have these moments to keep fighting.
“Always learning. This is a huge moment for me really because I’m at a part in my career where you choose to go on or keep at it or whatever… I know this is probably my last Commonwealth Games so it’s great. Wilby had a great race. I was a lot slower than yesterday, it was just a bad race.”
Paris still the plan? “Yeah of course. The next two years are going to be huge - how we attack that now, I don’t know. Because I haven’t done two winter blocks in a long time so it’s back to the drawing board and back to training.”

I think its kinda sad for Wilby that Peaty’s race overshadows a huge gold medal for him. Beeb instantly intervied Peaty and Wilby was almost a passenger in his own interview.

I’m just ranting tonight
The group Matt Walls landed on was someone from my tri club and his kids apparently. I dont know him but the coach posted on FB.
DId you not see the build up to that race? Peaty was the only one racing wasn’t he?
I thought AP did alright afterwards TBH, clearly called over by Sharon D.

Sharron is starting to come across poorly on Twitter. She means well and i agree with her cause but every post is about trans sport and its not a good look. She needs to be careful.

Women get very impassioned about this issue whereas blokes are just like, yeah whatevs - cos woman spent so much time under the cosh. They don’t want anyone pushing in again.
She receives a lot of abuse from people who claim to be about inclusion and equality. Looks mostly like misogyny, while shouting transphobia, to me.

I agree, he could have said something like, I had a bad day but you should be talking to this guy.
Trouble is the headlines would then read, “Peaty storms off after defeat, refuses to give interview”
It was a bit of a no win situation for him (no pun intended).

I really find Becky Addlington annoying AF but I an’t exactly tell you why. I’d much rather they had Mark Forster and Ellie Simmonds only.
I’ve managed to make downstairs to the sofa. watching Badminton, I can’t even see the shuttlecock on the screen at a distance!

I told them I didn’t like team sports or contact… and the results included team sports and combat sports. Maybe I don’t like them but would be very good at them
