Disqualifying an 8 year old from a race - that’s like going to their birthday party and throwing the birthday cake in the bin. How insanely mean! Fair enough if they deliberately cheated in some manner, but for some minor infringement- ffs

Unfortunately its all too common, and rarely are coaches informed of or know about DQ unless we have Meet Mobile on our phones. Then we can go and request the reason from the referee. Usually we dont even know theyve been DQd though.

Is there music going on then during the match, a bit like basketball… or does she just have music in her head 24/7?!

The music is going on all the time. I only know that because they asked Ama Abgeze about it last night. She said some can block it out and others thrive on it but the question from Clare Balding was ‘can you hear each other’ , which never really got answered.
Perhaps she didn’t hear the question?

Watching the diving. Is it compulsory to have two first names to dive?
Love a bit of diving, one of the few sports you can become fairly expert in in just a couple of minutes by watching for the splash (or lack of!)

Yep, looking for that rip entry.
I can tell a good entry from a bad one but I’m mighty impressed with how the commentators can spot the form (or lack of) in the air, in real time.

Haven’t seen it, nor do I particularly want to, apparently an Italian decathlete slightly compromised his run last night as he forgot to wear shorts with a liner and so had to keep one hand by his inner thigh for the race
