I’m using an Alpkit 20L Gourdon atm, but it’s a bit tired now, and doesn’t keep torrential rain out, even with an (old) dayglo cover over it too.
I can’t wear merino.
I break out in hives.
That looks loads better than the 25l DHB slice I’ve got. It’s not particularly waterproof but he lasted well
For what I paid for it in 2012 it’s done very well! Bought it originally for venturing off-base biking/running in the Falklands.

I have a hand built wheel for my summer (rim brake) bike
Someone suggested hand built when I asked for advice on fb but I had a broken rim so needed a solution fairly quickly as I have no spare disc brake wheels.

Yep - I reckon can manage without a front light up to 4:50 so in a couple of weeks should be going home down the lanes again.
Mornings will be dark for a bit longer

I left work at 16:30 today and had decent visibility all the way home, only 20 mins but it makes the world of difference from pitch black a couple of weeks ago.
The next milestone is when I can do the combination on the shed without a torch in the morning?

I get a lot of rashes with merino, although mostly if it’s warm so more of a heat rash but don’t usually get them as much with other base layers.

Yeah, I much prefer a Helly Hansen base layer.
I bought a couple of Rapha polyester type ones, but they’ve not yet arrived.
The Castelli perforated style one is great in summer
Went out today on my gravel bike but with the “road” wheels and tyres, and rode our local Kent roads for an hour. Covered in mud and grit, flooded in places, pot holes you could genuinely fit a pot inside… I think the road bike thoroughbred will be staying in the garage for a couple more months at this rate.
