I’m also thinking about getting this.

Had a bell but people cant hear it and I broke it trying to ring it so hard. 140 decibels should get their attention.

Imagine my surprise to find it pissing down with rain and blowing a gale on the way home tonight. Getting a little bit sick of it now.

Same. Forecast said 60% chance light rain. It was fucking pissing it down. I like cycling in the rain but this is getting beyond a joke.

Yep. Fuming. Forecast had rain coming in at 5. I ducked out early and from around 4:30 got saturated.

What a chore it was riding in this morning. WSW gusting 38mph - basically in my face all the way in. Oh, and the rain.

No rain here, but jeez was it mild. I’m too lazy/not intelligent enough to vary my kit daily for a 15min ride so was boil in a bag this morning.

Same same. Sweaty Betty. Bit of wind.

4 people step out in front of me today. Not as close or as bad as yesterday. Sorting camera and extra loud horn this weekend.

I just wore jersey/warmers and WS gilet today; yeah it’s all pretty wet, but I didn’t boil in it. 9 degrees I think.

What camera are you going for?

I bought the Cycliq’s , front and rear (Fly 12CE and Fly 6CE). The picture quality is great, but their software leaves a lot to be desired. In fairness, my rear packed in after 7months, and they replaced it without a quibble.

If I was to repeat the purchase, i’d probably bite the bullet and go for a GoPro next time, but can’t see that i’d be able to justify one for both ends of the bike!

I already have a shitty shimano one. Its forward only but as I stick to the cycle ways I dont really need a rear one. It’s just twats stepping out in front of me. I just need to find the mount and attach it to my London bike.

The app is utter shite but will only need to use it when I need to extract footage.

I’ve got one of the Chilli Tech bullet cams (@£30). It mounts to your helmet with a soft velcro mount which they claim would rip off in a crash so isn’t dangerous like the GoPro type mounts.
It’s only forward facing but I figure having it on the helmet means I get better coverage as I’m likely to be looking at whatever is happening, albeit not if directly behind me.

Often when I pass motorists waiting at junctions, they crack a polite smile at me coming past. I often wonder if this is because…

  • they pity me as I will inevitably have a terrible accident at some point
  • they pity me because I can’t afford a car
  • I remind them of an odd Uncle they have
  • they’re just listening to the radio
  • they’re mad & about to mow me down

Currently 6 degrees and sunny and light !!!
Rain this evening, but pushing up to 11 degrees.

Might don the 3/4 tight for this afternoons spin

I can safely say that I have done a lot of cycling in the rain, and without a doubt last nights commute was the wettest I have ever got on a ride! My gear spent the entire evening on the radiator, followed up by going in the airing cupboard overnight and it was still wet this morning!

Well that was a ride of two halves. First 20 mins sunny then a prolonged hailstorm. My shins…

Sun was out when I left home; sun was out when I got to work; freezing sleety rain for the 15mins in between

Unable to cycle to work last week due to my glass back.

Back I the saddle today & chuffed to be able to leave my big light at home, only needed my flasher.

Fecking cold journey in though :snowflake:. No doubt I’ll be melting on the way home.
