PAGING GRETA
PAGING GRETA
Never noticed this feature on Strava before
Think it’s if you mark it as a commute.
I’m just off to flag it, can’t have you in Greta’s good books ![]()
pretty sure this means we’re quits now
You should get on it @jeffb after your recent exploits ![]()
I’ve accepted she hates me ![]()
Did you have a sail on? ![]()

Er… no??
unless you mean half price consultation, free neck rub, that sort of thing. Then sure ![]()
Could yet used to this October weather! Normally the month I hate the most.
Tho that transition into darkness - big light on, brightest top - not even a km in before I feared for my life with a car ploughing through a roundabout I’m already on!!!
I’m learning to appreciate the 20mph limit when cycling in Wales. I’m not sure how much it will help slower cyclists, but I feel a lot safer & comfortable taking up more space when out & about.
You can only cycle at 20mph in Wales ![]()
That sucks.
I can cycle as fast as I like.
The 20mph limit in - most - formerly 30mph areas is for motorised road users: cars, motorbikes, lorries, e-bikes, e-scooters etc.
Yeah, no speedos on bikes but they can get you with dangerous cycling
‘Faster than a car’ being most jurors definition of dangerous ![]()
If you got to faster than a speeding bullet, then I’d be impressed.
Am I going to have to look out my FF gloves for tomorrow?
![]()
Needed knew long fingered gloves forever, can never seem to press buy on anything. Windproof and water resistant but not ski gloves or expensive.
I’m not allowed back on the bike until the surgeon gives me the all clear on my shoulder on Monday, so my commute this morning involved a sweaty, packed 185 bus
.
The bus terminated at Victoria and it’s amazing how many people were waiting at the penultimate bus stop before there to ride less than 500m in the bus ![]()
Drove into work last week as was feeling a bit under the weather.
Took almost exactly 30mins door to door, whereas bike takes @15mins. There were a couple of delays like a tanker truck reversing into the petrol station but nothing too unusual so a fair comparison overall.
Plan on going again tomorrow but, although it’s still supposed to be mild, there’s a weather warning for rain all afternoon so I’ll see how the mood takes me in the morning.
I bottled it, came in the car ![]()
Skull cap on but first ice cream heid of the season this morning.
![]()
Pfft. Pack it in, La.
Bloody roasting again ![]()

Jeans and t-shirt for 1.6km, 7km and 7km today.
Got 16-20km from Macc to get home (saved £23 on a train fare and still get home at the same time
) - for that I’ve got cycling shorts and a thin thermal jersey.
I may even not wear the gloves I’ve packed ![]()
