Just got home absolutely soaked and don’t have my door key. No one in obviously
The guy riding the Bianchi in this video is one of my mates -
I think I’d have been riding the long way round

I’m impressed they made it through. Was the car stuck, or seeing how it went?
I think the car was stuck.
Yeah, I was impressed that they both managed to carry on riding when they were up to their waists in water
You never know what lurks beneath… sinkholes, crocs…
I think I’d need to clean and regrease my bearings after that, and the bike might need it too…
They’ve just shagged their BBs, maybe hubs and headset. Was it worth it… probably a lot cheaper just to wade through with bike on head.
They’re in Surrey - it’s not like there wouldn’t have been other roads that they could have diverted around

This should be in the shark thread.
Badgers are vicious beasts.
Winter tyre recommendations?
Have been running Pirelli Cinterato, trouble free for last 2-3 winters, but now worn to the extent that little cuts from road flint cause punctures.
Replace like for like, or can get Conti GP5000 AS for about the same price, or Goodyear Vectors a bit cheaper. Any others?
I’ve been happy with Specialized Roubaix for commuting & winter but if the Pirellis have been good for you so far they seem to be doing their job fine.
I’m running Goodyear Vector Sport tubeless on my winter bike, no problems so far although they do come up narrow (30s are more like 28)
Got them from here, £25 tubes/£27.50 tubeless
One car driver pulling out in front of me
One cat running out in front of me
One cyclist looking straight through me
I think I need to calm down more during commutes, but…
No cats on my commute, but drivers pulling out in front of me and cyclists trying to ride through my like they’re on Zwift are everyday occurrences in my commute

It’s the main reason why I won’t miss commuting when I retire
Almost hit a pedestrian stepping off a bus.
The design of the cycle lane puts a pedestrian right in the middle of it. Normally I’m fairly clued up but Monday morning blues and not concentrating meant I wasn’t as switched-on, as normal. Thankfully a light clip rather than ploughing directly into him.
Floating bus stop?
They’re the worst
Nope. There’s a floating one on the other side of the road. This is just a normal bus stop with a cycle path running right alongside it. It’s a bad design and I’m normally pretty vigilant. In other news, I also failed to unclip at traffic lights, on the way home. Ended up on my back with the bike still locked in, up in the air. Marvellous.
I’ve complained here before about this junction, it’s still a load of stress I can do without
Just a load of crap getting from blue to red; bus traffic, pavement, pedestrian crossing, dual carriageway exit/on ramp traffic, four sets of lights…
Anyway I’m procrastinating, need to get my kit on and motor. Slept like a log last night.
Hey bicycles! Fuck off!
I fucking hate commuting. Finish work, twenty minutes getting changed, front wheel punctured. Same fucking wheel I just had repaired three rides ago. Fuck em all to hell.
Best day of the week tomorrow. Fuck it,
