Cotswold Classic / 113

That was meant in response to @sparky don’t worry. :joy:

As for the list thing. I don’t always do timing lists, but I do a list of something whether it’s hopeful split times, kit or something else. Guess it just channels my nervous energy.

I watching an Outlaw clip and one of the team names was:
Sofa King Fast

No, I don’t normally write it out quite so formally but basically I need to do something like this to know when I need to get up! It was also just as a response to @gingerbongo . I actually quite like staying somewhere different the night before a race, makes it feel a little more special in my head. The pub we are staying at is right on the Thames. Looks well lush

Yep I will also have some very precise split times, especially for the bike which I will then write on my arm on race day morning

Fwiw - took a little time queuing to get into parking field last year at the September 113. Wasn’t too bad but something to consider

I love a list.
Or three.
Or five.

Takes my mind off the race :see_no_evil:

List:

18 tyres
36 CO2 canisters
A spare wheel

2:15 for the journey, are you cycling it?

M5 → M4, looks about right to me.

Maybe too short even.

I’d probably allow 2hrs 30mins, for that queue into the car park.

123 miles I think it said. Probs be a bit quicker as no traffic at that time.

When my family heard Swindon, they were all “oh good we can see you much more often (I think they mean Otter…)” but if it’s 2:15 they can whistle! Would’ve thought it would be comfortably under 2 hours at that time, but true you don’t want to be stressed or queueing ages for the car park!

Extremely concerned you’ve not scheduled in Dump #1 and Dump #2 on arrival at race site.

One year the start was delayed by 90 mins…so you guessed it…

No; my brain is sufficiently capacious to retain this info without recourse to lists :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I figure out what time I need to be racked by, and work back from that.

I’m not generally a nervous :poop:er. Normal one not long after I’ve woken up, and I’ll be good to go.

Next % buddy, used them for both races there, not a problem. Alphaflys would be a bad choice, although there were plenty of people running in them last month

The ground is still pretty damp round here. Dusty trails they ain’t! It absolutely pissed it down last night as well.

Yeah loads of rain overnight; but still only Tuesday. I think the forecast is drier for the weekend around here? (I live 30 min away)

Question for @fatbuddha. Think Cotswolds is running under BTF regs. Is electrical tape over my tri bar ends enough, or do I need to bodge something more significant as the original ends are long gone.

They’ve been screw caps lately. Depends what I’m drinking.

Trying to not drink this week. Don’t need temptation.
