What is that on his back?
Have to say, the helmet is a good fit to the back.
Definitely! It’s a better fit that mine. It was the fact that he is probably quite aero whilst wearing a small rucksack, I’m not sure but possibly has a camelback inside it.
Yes. If you zoom in you can see the little blue tube going over his shoulder (plus it’s got the classic shape of a Camelbak).
Finally got a pic with the Kask Mistral on

I look like a lime on a TT bike and the quality isn’t good as it is from a video and I have no idea how to post one of those (edit now i have a link to the video)

Helmet really compliments your position.
Looking slippery there!
I took a premium subscription to my windsock but wondering if there are any users here so I can work on lowering my Cda further
Bars are normally lower for a TT, raise them 2cm for Ironman as I can hold the position better.
More Turtle needed
Note the mid foot cleats… I took a bit of a gamble having ridden less than 100km since trying out mid foot cleats, however, they seem to work well for me
Looking at your picture reminded me of a thread I read on ST recently.
The point was around sitting on the saddle like a road bike then arching your back down to the aero bars rather than the hips being rotated, keeping a flat back for the same (or lower) position.
You look somewhere in between the examples they gave which may be you raising the bars (as you say in your post) which perhaps goes away when they’re in their lower position.
Interesting about the cleats, I’ve been close to buying some myself for about 18 months but not used the TT bike enough?
Do you use them on your road bike as well?
I was expecting your calf’s would need some kind of conditioning.
I bought them after my little trip round Switzerland. My achilles was sore so I thought I would give them a go. I fitted them 3 weeks ago and done about 75% of my rides with them since then.
Mostly on the road bike, only did one ride on the TT bike before Roth whcih felt good, so I decided to give it a go.
There was no epiphany. I think I lose a bit of snap accelleration, but am more comfortable holding even power. No ssue with calves at all but a couple of times got a mild twing in my left quad, nothing that caused me any concern though.
One of the advantages in the sales pitch is the ability to run better off the bike… I certainly had a brilliant first km off the bike and my run wasn’t to shabby either. Was it down to the mid foot cleats? was it just down to great training this year?
Ive nothing to say position wise but are you wearing a jersey / bibs?
Change in T2 into shorts / vest?
Edit - by that I think your position looks good, improvements are beyond my knowledge!
No Its a Sailfish Speed Trisuit. all one piece but with a full length zip. It is pretty nice to run in
Nice. Haven’t seen any Sailfish stuff in a while. Even their wetsuits seems to have quitened down (or their marketing/presence in UK stores has).
Came up on my FB memories from 3 years ago today. Guided tour from the man himself as part of the opening and it’s already gone (who knows if it would have survived without Covid)
Thoughts on this?
Yes I’m too tight to buy the photo
And my belly/chest look massive as the zip broke on my skinsuit and it was left flapping around
Looks pretty aero tbh, interesting to see it from the front.
How long can you hold it?
Are we talking about his belly?
