While we’re here

Anyone got any recommendations for a portable blue tooth speaker :loud_sound:- loads of second hand ones on eBay also… Just want it to be LOUD!

check out Wonderboom ones - we have one we use in the campervan and works well

How much space are you wanting to fill, is that loud inside a campervan, or is that loud in a field next door to an air base?

The ultimate ears ones are good, the original boom size that fits in a bottle cage is good if you’re cycling around with it, but they’re not going to do field, you need to the even bigger ones that have little wheels for that.

Inside not for sitting in a park annoying folk lol.

But good for listening to my mixes back

Bose are generally great for this. Do you need battery powered or would you have a mains supply?

Bit of both - happy median.

The Bose Soundlink range is great, but expensive. I bought one secondhand.

Similarly the Sonos Move. We have one of those. The Roam is a more portable version, but the Move is a chunkier one that works well indoors (comes with a charging Dock whereas you have to pay extra for that with the Roam) and is beefy enough volume wise for the garden too. Definitely wouldn’t want to take it out and about though

I guess the issue with mix translation is which way you go? Do you go super cheap, like mobile phone speaker cheap ( and mono ) or do you ignore that end of the spectrum and just assume your listeners have a certain level of playback quality?
I know some producers refuse to compromise their sound for “ casual “ listeners. Guess it depends who your target market is.

Even with no wheels this is cheap

I saw that last night and had to stop myself making an offer. I tried to justify it as a project for my son but then thought of all the questions about spending on one child and not the other.
I have my eye on an Argon18 e117 as well

Also spotted it but I’m not sure the geometry works for me.

Probably gone now?

All the bikes that people ordered and then cancelled because they took too long to fulfil. Might be a tough market for them.
