Van’s in the garage

Drive up in an SUV - this is the life. Thought - can I lease a sports car for a month?

You know - the ones with the wheels

If nothing else to piss off the neighbours

Ironman sale is actually quite ok, better than I expect from them, lots at >50% off.
Obviously majority is named race gear, but still lots of genetic stuff from Roka etc.

I believe they take the piss with postage though!

£5 for me from the Oceania store. I was originally looking at the Europe store this morning though, which yes might be rediculous to UK?

Oh that’s ok. Yes, something silly like €50 or similar. Assumed it came from mainland Europe. Absolute joke really.

The only branded iM merch I have is what I’ve pick up from race days. I’ve bought either a cap or visor at every race. Only one I didn’t was iM South Africa - annoys me!

If there’s any really good deals I’m wondering if I could get it delivered to someone in Germany and pick it up another time?

I’ve never ordered something online to a different address.

Yep, like Chris I was actually quite surprised that there was some deep discount stuff. But then I got to exploring postage and immediately closed the window. Crazy prices.

Was looking at Freesat box alternatives so I can cancel Sky as I rarely use it. Seemed the general concensious was the Freesat boxes are still a bit shit compared to Sky boxes. But there is a ‘Sky TV Essentials’ deal you can get which keeps the recording functions working and access to all the Free To Air channels for £5 (they tell you 15) a month but they keep this fairly quiet. Fairly quick online chat and all sorted.

Not sure if it works for UK, For EU deliveries I use Europacket shop. Gets delivered to their warehouse in Germany, I collect and pay 3 euro, then claim Vat back at border and pay Swiss vat at Swiss boarder…… however if value is less than 350euro no need to pay Swiss vat

Trying to advise a work colleague on buying his first turbo and from a VFM point of view the Zwift Hub One is a good deal, especially as it comes with a years subscription too.

Just one question though… can the Zwift Cog be replaces by a standard cassette if its needed? I know it wont make much difference if using TrainerRoad or similar in ERG mode but would like him to have the maximum flexibility if he needs it.

Reading DCR’s review it suggests you can remove the cog and put a standard cassette on but I’d be tempted to double check with Zwift, or see what you think?

Thanks.

I had a look at GPLama as he did a teardown of one.

The cog looks like its just screwed on to the splines as a normal cassette so it can be used for any programme, not that it matters as apart from Zwift, I dont know anyone who doesn’t just use ERG mode.
