I’m not brave enough to do it without a pass from finance HQ though . Will get on to her now
Just hide it in your new garage
And somewhere in the distance a lawyer’s phone rings…
… a divorce lawyer’s
I think Bikester is EU based, so could get stung for import duties.
Wahoo have the Core @£630 and a reconditioned Kickr 2018 @£722. Unfortunately no reconditioned Cores left.
@fruit_thief join me in saris land…
Plus I have enough spare parts to replace half of it!!! DC Rainmaker still puts it in his top 3. Nice n quiet too for your posh pain cave!
Hmm that’s a bit of a bargain too. If I get one of those I’ll basically be carbon-copying your pain cave, except without the post-modern factory floor aesthetic.
Might do some research to see how that works with Apple TV. Since getting the Apple TV I have realised only has 3 bluetooth channels available & 1 is taken up by the remote and 1 by the HRM. Apparently can be a problem with Kickr which transmits cadence and power on 2 different channels. But maybe this is always the case , I dunno.
Are you happy with yours? Your treadmill recommendation was spot on thanks.
Sorry to hijack deals thread
I had a massive problem for months - a horrible knocking sound. But support was amazing and they just kept shipping parts (I say support was amazing, they could’ve swapped it and didn’t!!)
Turns out it was just the bearings in one of the pulley wheels - once that was swapped, silent.
Some people have had problems with the belts - but I think they are mostly sorted now as they changed the design of the belt and main pulley wheel.
I paid £850 for mine and yes, happy with it. It may report high wattage (!!!) might try some analysis again now its been pretty settled since taking it apart.
Screws in the case are made of cheese - I had to drill it out to get in, Saris sent me a new case tho !
I believe (tho please check) I’m transmitting Power, cadence and controller on the same channel (its certainly all listed the same within zwift).
It’s nice and quiet, far more stable than one of the elites I originally tried - just that 1 issue that got annoying (but everything still worked … just loudly!)
Sold!
There were a few refurb ones last week on offer…not sure how often they come up, but worth keeping eye on
Update: breakthrough in the spousal negotiation department! @mw22’s cut price Saris may be the clincher. She has said yes by whatsapp with the following 3 conditions (and I quote):
- nothing again ever
- it goes under the tree until December 25th
- sell the old one
I’m calling that a result
Hmmmmm, that sounds pretty restrictive, or are you hoping she softens/forgets over time?
Yeah this is normal, it’s how we negotiate in our house, we normally meet in the middle eventually
Merry Xmas Fruity! An extra 10 Watts and a better turbo!
30watts in my experience. He’ll deffo be a cat A by boxing day
What we buying next Nick??
Not liking number 1. (although it did work with the amounts of kids Mrs FP and I have )
Just got a good deal on a new 3 seasons ls jersey from Le Col. It was holding some strava code I had as well, so was down from about £120 to £59!
Le Col is the DFS of cycle clothing.
NOBODY buys it at RRP.
That’s Yanto Barker’s brand isn’t it?
